Marinette Cheng rolled out of her queen-sized bed in her mother's mansion. She went into the dining room where her mother's over-demanding assistant handed Marinette her schedule. "Thanks." She muttered sadly. "Happy birthday to me."
Meanwhile, bouncy Adrien Agreste burst from his own bed. "Happy birthday!" He yelped as he crashed down the stairs. "Happy birthday Marinette." He sighed dreamily as he stared at the gorgeous model's photos on his grey walls. "Adrien!" His mother called. "Time for school!" Adrien hopped down the stairs. "Bye Mom!" He called. "Bye Adrien!" She called back. As he entered the school, he saw Marinette talking to her best friend, Alya, the head of the school blog and the creator of the Ladyblog. Alya playfully punched Marinette's shoulder. Marinette smiled a little bit and they walked into the classroom together.
