Today is the big day. The day I finally get to marry the love of my life. After all of the trials we went through, he still loves me just the same, and I love him more every day. My little princess of mischief has found her hero, and they just can't stay away from each other. He loves her so much its unreal. She's now a bouncing little five year old who is so excited to be our flower girl. Kari is my maid of honor, even though she still doesn't quite get what she is supposed to do. She has come a long way since the day I taught her how to drive. Jane, Natasha, Wanda and Pepper are my bridesmaids. And uncle Nick will escort me down the isle. Gosh I didn't realize this was actually happening until the girls woke me up this morning screaming.
"It's your wedding day!" I love my family and all, but they are definitely crazy. My makeup artist does the finishing touches to my eyes and the hair stylist fixes my hair. She does an upside down french braid that goes into a bun at the very top of my head. The girls come back and they look amazing in their blue dresses. The boys have green button up shirts. Thor, Bruce, Steve and Tony are the groomsmen. And my little girl will be in a white sun dress. Throwing green and blue rose petals.
"Sarah?" Natasha says.
"Yeah?"
"We were all asking you questions, did you hear any of them?" She asks.
"Uh, no. I guess not. I'm just thinking." I smile.
"Don't worry." Jane whispers as she puts her hands on my shoulders. I look up at her from the mirror in front of me. She looks amazing.
"Alright guys, 45 minutes until show time! Let's get the bride into her dress, ladies!" Tasha squeals from the other side of the room. The girls carefully bring my dress out from the closet and take it out of the clothing bag it was in.
"You ready Sarah?" Kari asks.
"I think so." I whisper. Trying to hold my tears back.
"No crying. You mess up makeup." My make up artist says, smiling at me. Everyone but the bridesmaids exits the room. I slip off my robe and the girls help me into the dress. Zipping it up in the back. Tasha comes back with the Vail and pins it right under my bun. A tear slides down her cheek and she quickly wipes it away.
"The venue is just gorgeous." She says.
"Well of course it is. With you helping me design it, its bound to be lovely." I smile at her. Our wedding is at the Antun of Queens Village. It's absolutely lovely. The inside is all set up for the actually wedding. Rows upon rows of white chairs. A beautiful, white archway with blue and green roses intertwined through it sits at the end of the room. An antique chandelier hangs from the ceiling, giving the place a Victorian style, and an elegant vibe. The reception will be outside. I look at myself in the mirror. I can't believe I'm finally getting married. Gosh I look so different.
"Alright, its show time people. Everyone to their marks, lets move it!" Tasha commands. I give Erika a kiss on the cheek and everyone follows her out. I head into the main lobby that leads to the wedding area. I see Nick at the end of the line. He looks at me with a smile, and a tear falls from his eyes. I have to look away. It's taking a lot not to cry today. The music begins inside. The song I can't wait by runner runner starts playing as Thor and Jane enter the room. It's been one of my favorites for a long time. I showed it Loki a couple of months ago and he said that all of the lyrics make sense. He was the one who suggested it for our wedding day, which sent me into an ugly cry, of course. I hold my head high as I slowly make my way to entrance of the door. The song slowly ends as they all take their place up front. The wedding March plays and everyone stands. Nick walks up to me and grabs my hand. He kisses it gently, and places his hand on my cheek slightly. He then turns toward the room and takes my arm in his.
"I'm so proud of you, you know that right?" He whispers.
"Thank you." I barely manage to speak.
"Do you have your vows?"
"Yes. I just hope I make it through to end of them." We walk arm in arm and I look to the front. All of my family smiling at me. I see Loki, standing tall in his adorable tuxedo with a green boutonniere attached ever so delicately. He is smiling wide at me and a tear falls down his cheek. Does everyone here want me to cry or something? We reach the front and Nick hugs Loki. He then takes my hand and places it in Loki's. A tear falls from his eyes and he takes his seat next to my daughter. I look up at Loki and I can't stop the little tear that falls from my eyes. The minister starts the ceremony, and I can barely hear him. All I can hear is my heart beat. All I can see is Loki's face, smiling down at me.
"May you both learn together, grow together, laugh together. Don't get caught up in worldy things that will draw you apart. Instead focus inward toward your shared interests, and toward your lovely daughter. The love you share must be guarded and cherished, for it is your most valuable treasure. Now, the couple has prepared their own vows. Go ahead son." The minister say. He nods to Loki. Loki looks at me and begins to speak.
"What am I to say to the woman who took a broken man and made him whole again? Sarah, you are the reason I am who I am. You have brought me out of the darkest, and you have shown me how to appreciate the light.." He pauses for a moment to catch his breath, and by this point I can't stop the tears. "You put up with me, and I am not sure how. You love me even though I am not perfect. You keep me grounded, and I cannot imagine my life without you. We have been through some fairly tough times, and even though I was not here, you still stood by me. You are the strongest person I know, and I wish for nothing more than to continue the rest of my life with you and our lovely child by my side, for all of eternity." He says and I can hear people crying around me. The minister looks to me. I take a deep breath, and begin.
"Loki, my love, my life, my everything, I am more than blessed to have you in my life. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of how much I adore you. We have been through so much already, and we still love each other immensely. There were days that I was not so strong, awaiting your return. Days that most people would have given up, but I knew, in my heart, you would come back to me. I promise, to always love you more each day, to stay by your side no matter what happens, to cherish every moment I get to spend with you and our onery little princess of mischief, and to continue to grow with you, for all of eternity." I finish. We are both crying at this point.
"Now, do you, Loki Laufeyson, take Sarah Jones to be your lawfully wedded wife, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." He manages to whisper.
"And do you, Sarah Jones, take Loki Laufeyson, to be your lawfully wedded husband, for as long as you both shall live?"
"I do." I smile.
"To celebrate this lovely day, we ask that you now do the exchanging of rings." Steve walks over and hands me and Loki a ring. He smiles at me and goes back to his place.
"Repeat after me, son." He says to Loki.
"I, Loki, give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment. With this ring, I thee Wed." He says to me as he places a lovely golden band on my left ring finger.
"And I, Sarah, give you this ring as a symbol of my love and commitment. With this ring, I thee Wed." I say as I place his golden band on his left ring finger.
"By the power vested in me, by the state of New York. I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride." Loki puts his arm around me, dips me slowly and kisses me softly. Everyone starts to clap as he places ms back up right. Show off.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to introduce you to Mr. and Mrs. Laufeyson." Everyone cheers and Loki links his arm with mine. As we head down the isle, the only exception by Paramore plays. Loki leans over and kisses my forehead as we make our way outside to the reception area. It's a magnificent sight. There is a long wooden walkway that leads you through a small but lovely garden, and into the main area. There are several tables set up around the outer section, and a middle area for dancing. The tables are set up with a white table cloth, a small clear vase with one blue and one green rose, and a couple of wine glasses turned upside down. On top of each wine glass is a small team light candle. There are four tall London style light poles and several orb like lights strung up high above to illuminate the place. There are two big tables set up with refreshments such as a chocolate fountain and several cases of strawberries. Tasha knows me well. As everyone gets out to the courtyard, a songs starts to play. Everyone circles me in the center and I have no idea what's going on. Nick comes up and offers me his hand. I take it and a song I know all too well forms over the radio. Through the years by Kenny Rogers. I begin to cry as Nick waltz's me across the dance floor.
"This song means a lot to me." I tell him as holds ms close.
"I know baby girl. It's the first song that came on the radio the day you finally came with me. You started to sing along and I sang it with you. Even though I sound like a dead cow." And I laugh at him, pulling him closer. The song sarinades the air around us, and I am overwhelmed with joy.
"I love you." I whisper to him.
"And I love you, baby girl." He says. The song ends and he pulls away and kisses my cheek. He walks away and Loki comes to take his place. He bends down and slips off my shoes. He hands them to Kari and comes back to me. Another song starts to play and I immediately start crying. He pulls me to him, and has me stand on top of his shoes as he parades me around. He sings the song to me in my ear lowly. Heartbeat by Carrie Underwood.
"Make a falling star wish, one more slow kiss, what are we waiting on." He sings to me as I hold him close, fearing that if I move away from his chest, everyone will see my tear stained face. The song plays and I can't help but realize how perfect it is. I can hear his heart beat, and its beating fast and slow all at the same time. This is one of the most magical moments of my entire life. The songs ends and I step down off of his shoes.
"I love you, Sarah Laufeyson." He smiles.
"And I you, Loki Laufeyson." I smile back. The music changes and everyone joins me on the dance floor for several more hours of fun. I danced with everyone there. Steve, Tony, Thor, and even my little princess. I feel like the Belle of the ball. As the reception came to a close, everyone followed Loki and I out to the front of the building. As we walked toward the limo waiting for us, I kissed Erika goodbye.
"You be good for Aunt Kari, my love." I told her. She hugged Loki tight and then she ran to Kari's side. Everyone then started throwing blue and green rose peddles into the air. As we laughed and everyone waved us goodbye, we got into the limo. We stood up and looked out of the sun roof. We waved to everyone as we left for the airport. We both changed in the back seat, seeing as it would be a terrible idea to go through customs in a wedding dress. We made it on the plane and flew the several hours to Hawaii. Once there, we unpacked our stuff for our four day get away. With his arms wrapped around me, and a smile on both of our faces, our honey moon started.
