"Ash, talk to me." Michael said in a quiet voice, sighing when he got no answer once again. Although he was used to Ashton's silence by now, it still hurt him; not being able to hear his beautiful voice. It'd been almost a month since Ashton's father commit suicide, and Michael didn't really get why Ash was upset. The man was a terrible person.

It seemed as if Michael was fighting a losing battle, but he couldn't just give up on him. He wouldn't. Even though Ashton hadn't spoken to him or anyone for that matter, in 3 weeks; Michael had a feeling he would soon. He just had to stick by Ashton and remind him how much he loved him.

From where Ashton was laying on his bed, he couldn't stop staring at the cabinet in his bathroom which held his blade. He needed to be alone and he just wished Michael would take a hint. Ashton has tried to tell him, but every time he went to speak he'd choke up. The blade seemed like the only option he had now.

Ashton must have zoned out, because when he went to check if Michael was still sitting beside him, he wasn't. He guessed he got sick of the silence. The curly-haired boy clenched his eyes shut and burst into a fit of sobs, wondering why on earth he was still here when clearly he was a lost cause and no one could help him anymore.

The boy got up from his bed, making his way into the bathroom and went to grab his blade, but instead he decided to grab a bottle of sleeping pills that he stole from his Mum. With shaky hands, he unscrewed the lid and poured a few of the pills into his hand before raising it up to his mouth; however, he didn't swallow.

Once he did this, there was no going back. He'd never see Michael, his Mum, or even Calum ever again. But once he thought it through, it seemed like the best way to end the constant pain that he was feeling. He didn't want this life, and there seemed to be no way to fix it.

"Sorry, Michael." The boy whispered right before he put the pills in his mouth and swallowed some water. Ashton slid down the wall, closing his eyes and just waited until he no longer felt anything, waited until his time ran out.

"This is a fucking dumb idea," Luke huffed, parking his mother's car in Ashton's driveway.

"I told you, you didn't have to come." Calum said bluntly, clearly irritated with his friend.

"Um, we had plans today in case you forgot."

"We have our whole lives to make plans, Luke. I wanna see how Ashton's doing." The raven-haired boy hopped out of the car and made his way up to the front door.

"It was a really terrible thing that happened, but we shouldn't get involved." Luke locked the car and walked up to the door where Calum was standing. "Aren't you gonna knock?"

"Yeah, I just-"

"You think it's a bad idea!" Luke shouted. "I knew it! Now let's go." Before Luke could walk away, Calum grabbed his hand.

"Just... Stay for fuck sake." Calum pleaded, Luke sighing in annoyance but luckily gave in.  Calum knocked, waiting a minute before giving Luke a questioning look. He knocked again and there was still no answer, and for some reason he had a bad feeling.

"He's probably not home or asleep or something," Luke suggested, but he sounded unsure of himself.

"No, I think something's wrong. There's gotta be a spare key around here somewhere." As Calum went searching for a key, Luke had already discovered the door was unlocked the whole time. Calum's mouth dropped, wondering how the hell Luke figured that out and he didn't. Usually Luke was as dumb as a post. No offence to him or anything.

"That's the smartest thing you ever did." Calum told Luke quietly while shutting the door behind him and earned a light smack on the arm from the blonde.

"Shouldn't we call Michael if we think there's something wrong?" Luke asked, really not wanting to get involved if there was something wrong.

"No. We can handle this ourselves." Calum wanted to punch Luke for even suggesting they call Michael. The boys made their way up the stairs, not knowing which room was his, and so they each checked every room until Calum got to the one at the end of the hall.

He opened it, guessing it was Ashton's room when seeing band posters on the walls. He walked in slowly, thinking that he really wasn't home and that nothing was wrong; but as soon as he went to walk out, his eye landed on the bathroom. An ear-piercing scream escaped him when seeing Ashton on the floor.

The boy quickly rushed over to him, not knowing what in the world to do. Calum burst into tears, cupping Ashton's cheeks and smacking them lightly to try and wake him up. Luke ran into Ashton's room, seeing Calum on the bathroom floor with Ashton in front of him. Luke felt sick, not able to grasp what was going on.

"W-what the fuck!" Luke shrieked, swiftly entering the bathroom and felt something crunch under his shoe. He bent down, seeing that it was a pill he stepped on.

"F-fuck, Calum... He overdosed." Luke choked out, showing Calum the pill.

"Call someone! Now!" While Luke stood up and rang the ambulance, Calum moved Ashton over to the toilet and got behind him, not hesitating before sticking his fingers down his throat. Ashton wasn't gagging, which caused Calum to panic; but he wouldn't stop until Ashton was okay. Calum moved his fingers around, trying to find his gag reflex, gasping when Ashton began to throw up.

Ashton choked through sobs, Calum wrapping his arms around his waist and hugging him from behind. After Luke got off the phone and was assured an ambulance would arrive shortly, he rushed back in, seeing that Ashton was vomiting up the remains of the pills he took. The blonde was in shock, not thinking that he'd actually survive. He thought it was too late. Luke sat down on the floor and rubbed Ashton's back, he never thought he'd think this, but he was glad Ashton was all right.
