The dogs were talking.
As usual, they were lying around the base of the old oak tree in the early evening.
"I'm not sure we fully resolved the kibble issue," said Whitman
"Oh goody - Kibble! My favourite subject," said Pippa.
"What I mean," said Whitman patiently, "Just what is Kibble?"
"I know this one," said Pippa, "Kibble is deliciousness and scrumptiousness all rolled into one!"
"I think he means 'what is kibble made of?'" added Anton.
Just then, Malcolm trotted up.
"Sorry to be late - " he said, " - SHE was late home - and so was my supper"
"What did you have?" chorused the others.
"Let me give you a clue – " sighed Malcolm, " - begins with 'K'"
"That's just what we were talking about," said Anton, and our question is 'Just what is Kibble?"
"Well, it's not steak," said Malcolm, "I can tell you that much."
The others fell silent for a moment, thinking about Steak.
"I had steak once," said Whitman, with a sigh
"So you didn't get your kibble? said Pippa. "That's terrible."
The others rolled their eyes.
