Okay, okay. The gems can't escape because there are literally booby traps and cameras everywhere. However, (F/n) and Steven don't know that. They just went for it.
Third Person POV
"Garnet, what do we do? We barely escaped the ship last time!" Pearl exclaimed frantically.
"I-I'm not sure." Garnet mumbled in reply.
"Aw, what! Can't we just like, shape shift through the bars? Plus, this one is different. And smaller." Amethyst cried, kicking her on the cold bar, before retreating and whining about her stubbed foot.
"Amethyst, that's enough." Garnet said, "Steven and (F/n) may have already escaped from their cell. They could fit. But there are cameras everywhere, we have to hope for the best."
"But how long does it take for them to come out?" Amethyst groaned. "They still may be unconscious." Pearl stated in a matter-of-factly tone. "It could take hours for them to wake up!"
"They could also be looking for us still." Garnet pointed out. Amethyst sighed. "True. I just hope they don't trigger anything though."
(F/n) POV
"Steven, you said you've been in a situation like this before, right...?" I murmured. I'm tired of everything now. We've set off like at least thirteen traps. I've been slightly burnt and have bruises everywhere. Just don't ask.
"Yep. And we escaped, so there's nothing to worry about." Steven replied. But when I glanced at him, he had an expression of worry and concern.
We jogged in silence for a few more minutes until I piped up.
"So why do you think Chrysocolla is working for Yellow Diamond anyway?"
"All gems work for a Diamond. Peridot told me that Diamonds are flawless beings. All gems, well besides us, praise them." he said, still keeping his eyes forward.
"Yes, but she said she works for Blue Diamond. Don't you think that's... A little strange at the least?"
Steven was silent before he agreed and told me we would figure that our later.
We ran for about ten more minutes before my legs began to grow tired. I could tell Steven was tuckered out as well, since his breath became more heavy and his legs slowed down. We stopped at a corner for a moment to catch our breaths before continuing on the way we were going.
That is, before we froze abruptly in our tracks when we saw Chrysocolla's back facing us.
She was sitting calmly on a chair, facing a screen with numbers and equations I couldn't understand.
"C'mon!" Steven whispered and continued to another path. I nodded and followed him quickly. I certainly did not want to get caught.
It was maybe like a five minutes until we heard a loud noises outside of the ship. We looked out the window to find...
More war ships?!
"(F/n)! We're almost landing, we have to find the gems!" Steven exclaimed. I nodded and we started to sprint down one path.
We heard Chrysocolla speak from another room. "Yellow Diamond, I am about to land the ship. So I assume you have what you promised?" Curious, we peeked in. Chrysocolla was speaking with Yellow Diamond on a large screen.
"You do not question me." Yellow Diamond growled. Chrysocolla sighed, ticked off.
"We made a deal. Do you have what you promised?"
"I am in higher authority than you, puny little Chrysocolla. I do not need my time wasted by making deals with you. Now bring me the Crystal Gems, or it will be the end of you!" Chrysocolla's eye twitched and she frowned.
"Yellow Diamond, we-"
"Quiet!" Yellow Diamond snapped. Chrysocolla looked up to Yellow Diamond quickly as she quivered in fear.
"If you don't bring me the Crystal Gems, you will be broken!" Yellow Diamond threatened angrily. "NO! We made a deal! I bring you the Crystal Gems, and you heal Rhyolite!" Chrysocolla shouted.
"I don't have her!" Yellow Diamond hissed.
"You promised! You promised, you... AARGH!" Chrysocolla yelled, frustrated.
"If I don't find the Crystal Gems here, I swear-"
"No. You don't swear. You don't keep promises. You didn't keep your side of the deal. I could do anything I want with the Crystal Gems!"
"YOU DO NOT DISRESPECT ME. I AM IN HIGHER AUTHORITY THAN YOU. I CAN DO WHATEVER I WANT. AND NOBODY CAN STOP ME FROM DOING SO. YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH THIS? WELL-"
Chrysocolla pressed a button and the large screen went black.
She pressed another button, and I noticed that all the cell bars were raised. "Why is she-" I stammered. "I don't know." Steven said. Chrysocolla started to walk out of the room, so we ran and hid somewhere.
"I know you're here." Chrysocolla sighed, "I won't hurt you."
Steven looked up to her. "Why did you...?"
"She broke our deal."
"Oh. So you betrayed her?"
"Yeah. We need to find the others!"
Word count: 731 words
Note from Chryssi-chan: Woo, so she- well, I- betrayed Yellow Diamond. You don't know who Rhyolite is? Don't worry, I'll tell you later about her past.
