~Next Day~
Riley Gilinsky's pov:
Friday morning, I'm meeting a few students as I walk more onto campus from my dorm. I look around the unfamiliar, but welcoming place. A few students walking by would say 'hi' to me and they've guided me towards the administration office. I reach the administration building almost ten minutes later, taking a deep breath before opening the door and walking inside.
I walk towards the big glass doors leading to the office. I walk over to the guy behind the desk. Once I approach them, he looks up giving me a genuine smile and I respond the same way.
"You must be Riley," he smiles responding and opens one of his desk drawers.
"That's me," I reply nervously and they nod taking out a binder, huge yellow envelope and a Music crane folder.
"These are for you Miss.Gilinsky and Dr.Harmill will be here in a few moments. You can take a few moments to look over some of the information and brochures given to you if you'd like as you wait."
"Thank you so much," I smile guesting to the stuff he has taken out and take them to feel a bit of weight to it as I walk over to take my seat. I first open the binder looking through courses and programs they do offer here.
"Riley Gilinsky." I look up to see an older guy dressed in proper attire. His glasses resting on his nose and he looks at me with a welcoming smile. I put my things on the chair beside me and quickly stand.
"Hi," I smile fondly and feeling jittery. "You're Dr.Harmill that I spoke to on the phone the other day."
"Yes, it's great to finally meet you in person Miss.Gilinsky. I've heard you are one talented student." I quickly grab my things. We start to make our way out of the office and I follow beside him. "Tell me, how was your night spent here last night?"
"It was nice and I really liked the dorm. It seemed very well welcoming and the students here are very helpful."
"That is great to hear. As we head over to the lounge hall for breakfast, you don't mind if we have a few of our students to be with us for the day?"
"No problem at all sir." He nods holding the door out for me and I thank him as my eyes land on the first thing that would impress most students to come to their college. The ice cream shop. I smile thinking how this is a big plus.
"Our ice cream shop here is the newest addition here in this building along with Starbucks because of the popular demand and a cafe," he points up and I look to see there is a cafe which separates from seeing further in there. I smile thinking how colorful it is here. It's not bland or boring looking and the students here makes it seem like an atmosphere I would like to be in. We now make our way up the steps towards the cafe and walk in.
"It's really nice here," I smile looking around. He nods as he leads me towards the back window where I see three students. Two guys and one girl. One of them looks up and smiles nudging the others. They turn around and smile, standing.
"Hi you must be Riley," the girl smiles and shakes my hand.
"Hi," I say jittery trying to ignore my shyness right now.
"You have nothing to be nervous about," one of the guys chuckles lightly. "I'm Brandon," he says.
"I'm Jake," the other guy says.
"Olivia," the girl smiles.
"Nice to meet you guys," we all sat down. Then we start our conversation. "So, uh... Have long have you guys been going here and what do you major in?" I ask. The administrator excuses himself as he gets up to order our food.
"I'll go first," Brandon smiles. "My major is in music and I'm in the performing arts program here. I will be a sophomore."
"I'm an English major working with professional writing," Olivia smiles. "Oh, and will be a senior in the fall semester." Jake goes last.
"I'm in the graduate program getting my Ph.D. for Pharmacy," Jake says. "So Riley, you're really interested in pharmacy?" I nod.
"Music?" Brandon asks. I nod again.
"Writing too?"Olivia asks and my cheeks warms up.
"Yeah... Definitely writing," I say slowly. "It's a passion.
"That's great to hear! Oh! We wanted to know if you were up for a concert tonight," Olivia says excitedly. Jake rolls his eyes playfully and Brandon chuckles.
"Sure, who's performing tonight?"
"We'll let you guess," Brandon smiles. I think for a moment. "Well today's also the student get together fair, so it's like a big thing here.
"Ed Sheeran?"
"Nope, he came last summer."
"Girl or guy?"
"Well both," Brandon smiles. "I'm sure you've heard of them and three separate artists. One is a special guest for tonight though and the other two are on tour."
"Not a band right?"
"Correct." I nod thinking.
"I was going to say Twenty One Pilots, but I'm guessing that is not it." They shake their heads. "Nick Jonas?"
"He's the one guest performer." My eyes widens. Nick Jonas is going to be here tonight? This is so cool.
"I'm not sure what tours that are going on," I laugh lightly.
"Do you want us to tell you?" Olivia asks. I nod.
"Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes."
