Chapter 8

So this is, like, the shortest chapter I've ever published. Juicy stuff coming up, though, if that's any consolation.

Today is my 15th birthday!! Happy birthday to me! Guess how I spent it? In a dentist's chair. No kidding. Got my braces out, and I look like a whole new person. Not necessarily a better one. I feel like my face's got nothing but teeth stuffed in it. Really.

Yes, farrenlovesyouall, I'm not kidding. I got them out, and I'm not looking forward to the next school day. Brace yourself.

And I do have a life outside of wattpad, for all those who're thinking, 'What the hell is she doing posting chapters on her birthday?'. Consider it a treat. Right now my family's on their way to the party, and I'm waiting, so I thought, why not update, since the chapter was ready and waiting to go? So here it is.....

Oh, and image is OBVIOUSLY Justin. Play the music when its time. *wink*

TORI'S POV

"Your turn, Becca," Britney said when the bottle spun and pointed to her. "I want you to.....hmm..." Britney gave me a meaningful look. "Kiss Jake." So I wasn't the only one noticing the sidelong glances and unexplainable blushes.

Speaking of blushes, Becca was sporting one right now. She gave me a look that screamed, 'Help me!' but I just smirked at her. Johnny was sharing a glance with Jake too, and I thought I saw him wink. Whatever that was about, I think I had an inkling of an idea. Jake was blushing too, as funny as that was. He looked adorable.

Becca quickly pecked his cheek, and then looked away. A round of disappointed murmurs went round.

"That's cheating," I pursed my lips, fighting a grin. She shrugged noncommittally, and quickly turned the bottle. I breathed a sigh of relief when it didn't land on me. I did not intend to kiss anyone or dance on tables tonight, and I had too many secrets to ask for truth. "This game is boring," I whined, slipping away. The others tried to make me come back, but I ran away. It was only a few minutes later that I realized that there was nothing else to do other than drink or dance.

I watched in disgust as a drunk girl did....vulgar things....on the dance floor, which was in the middle of the living room. I wondered where Shawn was. This was his party after all. I found him passed out on the couch. Oh, well.

I wandered to the corner, feeling very much out of place. The song 'Here' by Alessia Cara came to mind, and I could relate to her. At least the boys around weren't eyeing me as usual. They were too drunk and distracted by the other less-dressed girls in the room to notice me. I smiled. Here I was Tori Mason, and not Victoria Brooke. I could be free, do what I want. No press, no paparazzi. Nobody criticizing my every action.

The boring electronic music suddenly changed and the speakers filled the room with the song "Animals" by Maroon 5. A smile lifted my face and I felt myself unwittingly turn around to look for Julian, but I couldn't find him. I closed my eyes to listen to my favorite song. My body began moving to the beat without me even realizing it, and soon I was dancing. I felt the moves from all my dance lessons with world-renown choreographers kick in, and whipped my hair undone as I hip-hopped.

JUSTIN'S POV

The redhead who slipped me her number had gone to flirt with another guy. I looked at the drink in front of me, and the urge to drink was strong, but I had stopped long ago. This was not my scene. Suddenly, "Animals" by Maroon 5 came on, and my eyes swept to the kitchen doorway, and my brows furrowed when I found Tori missing. A hush had suddenly swept over the room, and I turned around in my seat when somebody gave a wolf whistle. The dance floor had cleared for a dancer, and my eyes widened in surprise when I saw Tori.
