Trapped

She is trapped,

Trapped in a web of fear,

Nightmares come to life,

Haunt her until death.

A sheet of darkness spread across her weak body,

She has given up, on what we call life.

Her light has dimmed down; her colours have turned neutral,

Her eyes close slowly, into an eternal sleep.

For fear has become victorious,

And she was defeated.

For fear beat, bruised and battered her,

Until she became so frail and small, she could not take it anymore.

A fair lady, once gleeful and filled with joy,

Now in a mop of sorrow and melancholy.

Now contained in a spiral of despair,

Claiming that to her, life wasn't fair.

I figured that since I have only been writing rhyming couplet poems, I would try something new and compose a free verse instead. I hope you all like it, and please tell me your thoughts on this one.  Stay happy not crappy :D
