Christine's pov
I woke up the next morning with caramel licking my face. "Gross! Cut it out!" I said laughing and pushing her off. I looked over at my alarm clock. 5:30 am. Ugh. Since there was no chance of me going back to sleep I climbed out of bed. "Looks like someone needs to go for a walk." I said to caramel as she stared at me. I dug through my drawers until I found a pair of yoga pants and and tank top. I got dressed and put my hair into a ponytail. I put on my sneakers and grabbed my water bottle and phone. Caramel followed me downstairs into the kitchen. No one else was awake yet. Figures. I wrote a note saying 'Went for a run. Be back soon! ;)' I left it on the table and got the leash from the coat rack. I stepped outside and was immediately taken aback by the brisk air because the sun hadn't come up yet. However, I new I wouldn't feel it once I started running. I hooked the leash onto caramels collar and put in my earbuds and started running. Soon I reached the beach and I ran along the shoreline. The sun started to peek up above the water. I stopped and took off caramels leash. I picked up a piece of drift wood and threw it. Caramel went running off to get it and bring it back. I sat down in the sand and watched the sun rise. I didn't do this every morning. But when I could I would. I liked the time to myself. I didn't get very much of that. Soon caramel returned with the stick and set it down next to me and waited. I picked up the stick and threw it again. Today was Saturday. I started filming Monday. My birthday was on the following Saturday. I would be eighteen, a legal adult. I don't feel like an adult. I never have and I probably never will. I wonder what Jace is planning. Whenever I ask he's says he's not planning anything, but I can easily tell when he's lying. I checked the time on my phone. 6:30. I had to get back soon or people would wonder where I was. I didn't want to go back, but my time was over. Sometimes I feel like I have to be a million different things for a million different people. I worry I won't be able to keep up. What if I let everyone down? What would I do if I lost everything around me? I suppose I could go to college. I mean I'm going to be taking some online courses but I've always wondered what real college was. Of course if I'm still acting I would never have the time to go to actual college, but if I lost that, I suppose college is what I'd do. Caramel came back with the stick. I put the leash on her. The sun was well above the horizon now. People would be coming here soon. The world was waking up. I took one last breath of the ocean air before beginning to run again. I ran back up the beach and onto the streets until I reached the house at about 7:00. I went into the kitchen where Jace's parents were making breakfast. Jace wasn't down yet. "Morning!" I said. "Morning!" They said back. I went upstairs to my room and showered and put on ripped jeans and a red shirt that said broken hearted on it in black letters with a broken heart in the center. I put on a little bit of makeup then went downstairs. Now Jace was sitting at the table and his parents had left for work. I came over kissed him on the cheek. "Good Morning." I said. I got a bowl and poured myself cereal and juice and sat down next to Jace. "So are you getting your script today?" Jace asked me. "Yeah my agent is dropping it off today." I said. "Your going to do great. I can't wait to see it!" I sighed. "I hope so. It feels weird though. Not working with you." I said. "Hey you never know, we may work on the same set again someday." He said. "That would be awesome! And what about you? What are your plans for today?" He thought for a minute. "Well for this morning, nothing. Then this afternoon I have to go do some photo shoot thing." I frowned. "Awe. I don't want you to leave." I said sadly. He stood up and wrapped his arms around me from behind. "Well at least we have all of this morning to hang out." He kissed the top of my head. I stood up and cleared my bowl. Then Jace and I went into the living room and plopped on the couch and turning on the tv. I put my head on his chest and he wrapped his arms around me. It's funny how having Jace around can make the simplest moments special. We watched some old episodes of Bones for a few hours until we started to get bored. After we finished an episode I turned off the tv and sat up leaning my hands on his abs. "So what do you want to do now?" I asked. "Do you want to go to the park?" He asked and I nodded. "Alright. Come on." We got up and put shoes on and walked outside. We held hands and wandered to the park. We found the swing set and sat down next to each other. We started to swing while trying to hold each other's hand. "So are you going to tell me what your planning yet?" I asked deciding to try again. "Do you really think I would give away my master plan so soon? And ruin the fun?" He said with a mischievous grin. "Oh come on just tell me! You know I hate it when you plan things and leave me in the dark!" I prodded but he only smiled. "All I will tell you is that your going to love it." I rolled my eyes. "That's not fair! I always love your surprises. You know me too well!" He laughed which made me laugh too. "Hey watch this!" He said and tried to jump off the swing but wound up eating a face full of dirt, which only made me laugh harder. "Your such a six year old!" I said jumping off with ease and landing next to him as he sat up. "I am not!" He said in a whiney childish tone. "Your are too!" I said back. "Are not!" "Are too!" I laughed pushed him over. "That's it your gonna get it!" He yelled. I squealed and ran as he chased after me. I ran up the stairs of the play structure and ran ducking under all the little things until I reached the slide. Laughing and out of breath I turned around. In a second Jace was in front of me. He wrapped his arms around my waist, his body less than an inch away from mine. He leaned in and whispered into my ear. "Got you." I put my arms around his neck. He leaned down and his lips met mine for a long moment. Then he pulled away. "Come on." He said pulling me down to the slide. I sat on his lap. "Ready?" He asked. "No!" I said back and he just shook his head and pushed off. It was faster than either one of us expected and before I knew it we were on our butts on the ground. Neither one of us could stop laughing. I turned over now hovering over Jace. "We should probably get home so we can make lunch." He frowned but then he smiled. "Can we make mac'n cheese?" He asked and I laughed. "You are six. Fine!" I said and he smiled and gave me a kiss. We got up and walked home. We went into the kitchen and boiled water then cooked the pasta and added milk butter and cheese. Soon it was done and the cheese was bubbling. "It's alive! ITS ALIVE!" I yelled raising my arms over the pot. Jace then poked me in the sides making me jump. "You jerk!" I said and stuck and fork into the pot and pulled out a piece of pasta and flicked it at him. It hit him square in the face and I broke out laughing. "Oh yeah?" He said sticking his hand in the pot and pulling out another piece of pasta and smearing it on my nose. "I hate you!" I laughed. "I love you too." He said. I got put two bowls and served up our lunch. We sat on the couch eating until we finished then we put our bowls in the sink. It was about one o'clock. I heard the doorbell ring. I answered it. It was my agent. She gave me the script, I thanked her and closed the door and returned to the couch. "Is that your script?" Jace asked. "Mhm." I said flipping through it. "Can I see it?" He asked reaching for it but I pulled away. "No! It's a surprise! You have to wait until it's done to see it!" I said and he pouted and sat down next to me. "Fine." I heard a car horn from our driveway. "That's my ride. I have to go." He started to get up but I pulled him down again. "No! Please don't leave me!" I whined. He gave me a passionate kiss. "I'll be back around six I promise." He whispered before standing up. "I'll miss you." I said. "Miss you already!" He said putting on his shoes. "Love you!" I called. "I love you more!" He called while going out the door and giving a quick wave before shutting it. I heard the car drive away and I sighed. I guess I should read that email about the movie. It was basically a welcome note, a schedule for this week, and a summary of the movie. Basically it is about this underground company that steals young kids and trains them to be killing machines so when they are adults they can go on assassination missions for the company or be sold to other companies. My character has come to be the best fighter they have. She is assigned to her first mission to kill a young man but when she meets him she ends up falling in love with him and refuses to kill him. The company finds out that she's going against them so they kidnap the guy. When my character finds out she realizes just how wrong and messed up this whole operation is and becomes determined to use her training to take down the organization and all others like it and save her lover along with all the girls who have been taken from their parents and dragged into this. It all actually sounds really cool and I can't wait to start working on it. I have to be at the studio Monday at 6:30am-7:00pm for our first half of the read through, Tuesday at 7:00am-7:00pm for the second half of the read through, Wednesday at 6:00am-5:00pm for rehearsal of our first few scenes, Thursday at 5:30am-8:00pm for more rehearsals, and Friday 7:00am-3:00pm. Okay wow, I have a long week ahead of me. But I guess this is the first step to moving on to bigger things than Henry Danger. I might as well get used to being busy. I closed my laptop and walked over to my window seat and took out my script and highlighter. I began reading through the script and highlighting and taking notes. I worked for hours until I must have fallen asleep. Someone was gently shaking my shoulder. "Christine? Christine wake up." Jace said. Wait, JACE?! "What time is it?!" I asked sitting up quickly. "It's just past six." He said. "Woah. I slept for like two hours!" I said surprised. I stood up and my script fell to the floor. I forgot I had it. "Sounds like fun. Anyways my mom ordered a pizza and my dad should be home soon so you should come down for dinner." Jace said taking the script from me. I took it back from him. "Actually can I eat up here I've got loads of work to be doing on this." I said staring at the pages left unmarked. Jace once again took the script from me. "You've been working for hours. Give yourself a break. Come on we can watch a movie with our pizza." I took the script and put it in the desk drawer. "Alright fine. Let's go." He smiled and took my hand and we went downstairs. We got our pizza and went into the living room and ate while watching movies. Soon I fell asleep on Jace's chest. I wonder how much time we will have together after I start this movie? He'll be going on to do other things too, so what if our careers are what drive us apart?
