They chatted at their little table in the canteen until they were kicked out by a pissed off canteen worker.
Kaustuki did all the talking, making Sanyukta feel like the college going carefree girl she was supposed to be.
"Did you get unpacking yet?" Sanyukta asked her new friend.
Kaustuki let out a groan. "Please...We just got here...I don't wanna unpack!"
Sanyukta shook her head at how childish Kaustuki was being.
"I'm going to go unpack. It won't feel like home unless I do. And this is going to be home for the next four years." Sanyu looked down at the table.
"In that case don't you think we should find out how big this home really is? Look around the campus?" Kaustuki grinned.
"Point, but...." Sanyukta stopped when she saw the grin on her companion's face
"No buts. Exploration time. Come on, don't be a scardy cat!" Kaustuki grabbed Sanyukta's arm and dragged her off.
"Okay, okay. But I want to see the library first" Sanyukta pouted.
"Oh dear. I got stuck with a Hermione Granger didn't I, poor lil me. Well on the plus side you can help me if I need it." Kaustuki grinned.
"Yaay! A fellow Potterhead! Finally." Sanyu grinned back "But don't expect help all the time. By the way, what branch are you from? I'm from Mechanical."
"Computer ofcourse. No one bets me at the programming stuff. I'd tell you what I can do but then I'd have to kill you. " Kaustuki ran her hand over the bookshelf, looking at the fat books and their well worn spines.
"Don't tell me you can hack stuff and all that. Whoa." Sanyu's eyes went all big and round.
"Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies." Kaustuki put her index finger on her lips.
"Shhh...Can you two keep it down?" A male voice, a very annoyed male voice cut in the conversation.
Sanyukta turned around to see a bespectacled, irritated boy with a frown on his face and a laptop in his hand.
"Well hey! Look who started his cramming from Day one. Loosen up...Guy.." Kaustuki smiled at him.
His angry look faltered and he shook his head. "It's a library...people come here to study, not chit chat."
"Okay Sir." Kaustuki saluted him.
The boy turned red. "D--don't Call me that."
"I don't know your name." Kaustuki was enjoying pulling the poor boy's legs.
"I'm Jignesh Kamdar." he sighed.
"Great...I'm going to call you Jiggy though. Jignesh Sounds so Uptight" Kaustuki winked.
"H..Hey, you can't call me that miss Pink...er...I don't know your name." Jigs mummbled.
"I'm Sanyukta and this is Kaustuki" Sanyukta offered.
"So..if you call me Jiggy...can I call you Kaustu?" Jiggy had a hopeful look on his face.
"Um...lemme think...no!" Kaustuki grinned.
Jiggy's face fell.
"Just kidding. Ofcourse you can Jigs."
'Jigs' beamed.
"I'm sorry for her rudeness." Sanyu sighed.
"It's okay, I'm used to people like that. Make fun of the Gujju boy. Why this morning itself I got cornered by a buffon and his gang of babbons. Calls himsef Yoyo Paaji. Bah." Jiggy frowned.
"Yoyo Paaji? Crazy about Honey Singh much. Ugh. " Sanyukta couldn't help but roll her eyes.
"Hey, His voice is sort of nice even if the lyrics don't make sense..." Kaustuki grinned "Just kidding."
"She kids a lot." Jiggy observed.
"She is a kid." Sanyu winked.
"Hey, no ganging up on me...you are supposed to be my roommate. Why don't you" she poked Jiggy "get help from your own roommate?"
Jiggy shook his head. "No."
"Why? Is he all uptight and diva like?" Kaustuki raised an eyebrow. Sanyukta muffled a giggle.
"Worse." Jiggy sighed.
"Who is he? Is he bothering you? One punch to his face and..." Kaustuki pumped her fist in the air.
"No..no" Jiggy looked terrified. "I..I got to go.."
He ran out of his room like the hounds of hell were after him.
"Strange boy" Kaustuki frowned "What's his deal?"
"I think his roommate must be a bully." Sanyu shook her head "If he doesn't want to tell we can't make him. It's his life."
"Alright. Let's go back and unpack. Mom"
Sanyukta smiled back at Kaustuki.
Maybe having a friend was not going to harm her plans.
Maybe.A/N: yes.
Jiggy.
Also you got a little glimpse of Yoyo. I'm not fond of the Jiggy Kaustuki Yoyo thing. That might be omitted a bit.
Next chapter will be Randhir's side
Feel free to tell me what you expect him to be like.

Redux (Discontinued)
FanfictionHe was used to people leaving him. She was used to people hurting her. What they weren't used to was having some one stay and actually give a damn about them. My first and perhaps only Sandhir centric story. Advice on writing them is most welcome...
