Puppet On A String

Put on your mask and play your part
In the charade that you call "life".
Don't forget the lines and gestures,
That you've rehearsed so eagerly.

And all your moves and all your actions
Are nothing else but cruel deception,
Because you have stay the actor
in a play of self-betrayal.

Your role a never-ending torture,
Helpless puppet on a string,
Longing for the freeing scissors
To escape the puppeteer.

Everyone thinks that you're perfect.
Noone wants to look through the curtains.
'Cause everybody wants facades
And noone wants to see the truth.

That is what you always thought,
And this is why you play your part
in a play of self-destruction
Instead of portraying yourself.

You hold the scissors in your hands.
It's up to you to free yourself.
Be yourself, don't play a role.
Time for the final curtain call.
