Part 8

Kimberley looked at the boy who she was dancing with and smiled shyly. She loved dancing and the guy was really nice. He spent the whole night with her though Kimberley knew he wasn't interested in her. She heard when Mrs Lawson asked him to care about her for a while. He made a good job. He was funny, clever and brought newer and newer drinks.

Kimberley was usually good at drinking but now she was really tired and she got a pill for her headache and another one for the pain in her wrist.

She asked only non-alcoholic drinks.

Kimberley put many efforts into her appearance because of the party but still she didn't fit into this company. In spite of her makeup, her hair, her dress  she was still the same little gray mouse. All the girls around her were beautiful with perfect body but no one could compare to Cheryl.

Kimberley's eyes were looking for her again and again.

Cheryl seemed to enjoy the party forgetting her. They only met once when Kimberley arrived and the only thing Cheryl said was that her father thought there was a tension between them because of Kimberley’s work so they didn't have to pretend anything tonight.

Since then they didn't talk.

Cheryl didn't even look at her.

The world around Kimberley began to spin slowly…

The music faded...

’I thing someone needs a little fresh air.’ The guy smiled at her and Kimberley nodded making the room spin faster. She took his hand and let him lead her out of the room.

They didn’t go into the garden. He led her to one of the rooms downstairs. Kimberley didn’t mind it. She was really poorly and she just wanted to lie down.

As soon as She collapsed onto the bed in the room the hand was on her thigh slidding under her dress. Kimberley heard the voice but didn't understand the words.

Her mind didn't work.

'It was a boring night so far but now we can make it better.'
