"THAT'S NOT EVEN PART of my options," I quickly snorted.
"I will never bow down to an Alpha like you. Mate or not, I'm never going to back down."
How sure am I that he will do as he says?
"You fascinate me with your smartmouth," he muttered, bringing his hands up that I flinched and closed my eyes. I somehow feared he would slap me, but he did not.
Warm-no- burning touch gently landed on my cheek; his fingers traced my jaws and settled down on my chin. Lifting my face up, I opened my eyes to see the giver of such mortifying sensation.
Fear went back to me like a wildfire ready to burn me down in its flames.
"Let's change the deal, shall we?" he uttered. I swallow a lump in my throat, hoping the next words wouldn't pull a trigger for me to bow down to him-- not in front of my father's grave.
"Your wolves have been held captive by my warriors in the woods. I admit you're an intelligent girl, Freya, but they don't call me who I am if I am not always one step ahead of my prey."
Gold, red, black. It was scary how his eyes had been changing colors. It somehow settled with a bloodcurdling onyx black. His claws ran down my throat, blood pouring in droplets, sliding down from my neck to my collarbone. It should be painful but I felt numb at each second.
"I will let them live, but in exchange, I will take your life," he said, proving he was the shadow of the devil.
Hal growled at his words but I could see him coughing blood from a distance. He couldn't even move a muscle from where he was.
