Chapter 42: That's an exact opposite of good news

*MELANI'S POV* Waking up from last night, gave me a huge headache. I groan in pain and stare at the ceiling. Me: "Justin?" No answer. I sigh and just think about last night. Justin was so sweet, so caring. The look on his face when he thought I picked no made me wanna cry. And that kiss.. Oh boy. Even thinking about it made me giggle. "Whatcha giggling about babe?" I turn to the door and see Justin, smiling with his cute snowman PJ's. Me: "Nothing." I grin. Justin: "Mhm." He chuckles and pecks my lips. Justin: "You know, we never got to have that makeout session." He raises and lowers his eyebrows. I laugh. Me: "Well, I was tired." Justin: "Oooh... I know. That's why I rescheduled it for tonight." I roll my eyes. Me: "How are you so sure?" Justin: "You can't resist these babies." He sticks out his lips, making me laugh. Me: "You're weird." He grins. Justin: "I knooooow. C'mon, Mary made breakfast." He scoops me up and carries me downstairs. Mom: "Morning sweetie." Me: "Morning." I smile. Justin sets me down in my chair. Mom: "Something wrong with your legs? Besides your cast?" I laugh. Me: "No, Justin likes to carry me." He grins at her. Justin: "Yep. She could hurt her.. Other foot or somethin'." Mom laughs and shakes her head slowly. Mom: "Weird boy." Me: "OMG I know right?" We laugh. Justin: "Hey, being weird is fun." He furrows his eyebrows. Me: "Sure it is, hunny." I pat his head. Justin: "You guys are mean." He pouts. Me: "Aww... We're sorry." Justin: "That's not good enough." He crosses his arms and turns away. I roll my eyes and smile. So fake. I slip my arms around his waist and set my chin on his shoulder. Me: "Baby, we're just kidding." His lip quivers as he tries to speak. I laugh and sit back down in my seat. Becca: "Morning people." She scratches her head and sits across from me. Mom: "Good morning sweetie. Are the boys awake?" Becca: "They're comi-" There was a loud scream coming from upstairs. Chaz came downstairs with white stuff in his hair... Baby powder. Me and Justin burst out laughing. Chaz: "WHAT is this?!" Me: "Baby powder." I say casually. Chaz: "Why the hell do you have baby powder in the blow drier!?" Me and Justin crack up. Justin: "It was supposed to be a prank, man." Chaz: "So not cool." He growls then goes back upstairs. Becca: "When did that happen?" Justin looks at me. Me: "Uh... Couple days ago." We laugh. She gives us a look but then her phone rings. Becca: "Hello? ... Aww. Now? ... Ugh fine ... Yeah yeah ... Kay bye." She pulls an annoyed face. Becca: "Mom says I have to go now." Me: "Kay, see ya tomorrow." I hug her and follow her to the front door. Becca: "Wait, Mels.. If Justin tries to tell you something about 'the past' please don't listen, okay?" I stare at her. Me: "Why not?" Becca: "Just 'cause." I give her a weird look. Me: "Okay. Bye." She waves and starts walking down to her house. Well that was weird... Ryan: "Hey Melani, can we go in the pool?" Me: "Yeah sure. Go ahead." He nods and asks Justin for some swim trunks. They all go upstairs. Me: "Mom, can I ask you something?" Mom: "Sure sweetie. Anything." I sigh and take a seat next to her on the couch. Me: "Do you know anything about JustyBear?" She gets wide eyes then clears her throat. Mom: "Hunny, Justin's gone... He left years ago." I bite my lip. Me: "I know, but.. There's something in my heart telling me that he's here." She sighs. Mom: "Hunny, Justin's somewhere else in the world..." She trails off. What was everyone hiding from me? *JUSTIN'S POV* I stopped at the top of the stairs when I hear Melani mention JustyBear. Mary looks up at me for help. I swipe my hands across my neck, signaling no. Mary: "Well the point is, Justin's long gone.. I'm sorry sweetie." Melani hangs her head down and slowly nods. I creep downstairs. Me: "Kay! We're ready. You comin' Mels?" She looks at me and starts stuttering. I laugh. Me: "Yes, I'm sexy. I get it. Sorry if you can't handle it." I wink, making her laugh. Mary: "Like I said, WEIRD BOY." She smiles and shakes her head slowly. Me: "Anyway, you comin' babe?" Melani: "I can't swim, but I'll watch." Ugh. I couldn't wait 'till that stupid cast came off. She'd be able to swim again, which meant bikini babeee. I smile, thinking of that image. Chaz punches my arm playfully. Chaz: "What're you smiling at, perv?" He laughs. Me: "I'm not the perverted one here." I pat his back before walking outside to the pool. Alex appeared at the top of the stairs and raced out back. Wow. Me: "You sure you don't want me to stay with you?" I ask Melani while putting sunscreen on. Melani: "Justin you're right there, I don't need a body guard." She laughs. Me: "Just checkin'.." I pause. Me: "You out." I wink. Melani: "You're so.." I finish her sentence. Me: "Hot? Thanks babe." I peck her lips. She laughs. Melani: "Not what I was gonna say, but okay." She sticks her tongue out. Christian: "Yo man! Stop flirting and get in." I roll my eyes. Me: "You gonna be okay?" Melani: "Yes, just go." She pushes my chest backwards. Me: "Oh I see how it is.. You're touching me now, huh?" She laughs. Melani: "Shut up." I smile and walk backwards. Into the pool. When I come back up, everyone was laughing. Even Melani was trying to hold in her giggles. Ryan: "You were always clumsy." He laughs. Me: "Psh. I did that on purpose. Pfft." They look at each other then laugh more. Me: "You guys are mean." Melani comes limping over. Melani: "Aww don't worry Justin. I thought it was.. Cute." She stifles her giggle. Me: "Really?" I stare up at her. She nods. Melani: "Course. You'll always be cute little Justin." She laughs and runs her fingers through my wet hair. Melani: "You look hotter with spiked hair." Me: "I need gel." I say quickly. She laughs. Melani: "I'm just kidding. I like your hair better with the flippy thing." She mocks my hairflip and laughs. Christian: "No you're doing it wrong! It's more like this." He does this weird twitchy thing. Ryan: "Aha no no I think it's like this." He rolls his head around like one of those rockers. We all laugh. Me: "You guys do it so wrong." We swim for about another hour, and now it's almost 4. [lol just pretend. xD] The guys are in Alex's room playing video games while Melani and I are cuddling in bed. She's laying on my chest drawing shapes on my arm. I rest my eyes and listen to our heartbeats. Melani: "Justin?" She stops drawing shapes. Me: "Yeah?" I see her look up at me from the slits of my eyes and smile. Melani: "Is there something you, mom, and Becca are hiding from me?" I stop breathing for a quick moment. Me: "No." I blurt out. She furrows her eyebrows. Melani: "I don't believe you." She sits up. Me: "What? Why?" She sighs. Melani: "I just.. Feel like there's something I need to know, and you guys aren't telling me." She bites her lip. Melani: "Something important." I hug her. Me: "Listen, I would never lie to you. I'll tell you everything you wanna know. Just ask." AGH! God Justin. STOP LYING! I try to stop myself from grinding my teeth; she knows I do that when I lie. Melani: "Okay... So, would you leave me if Rihanna accepted your date offer?" She looks up at me and giggles. Me: "What?" Melani: "You said you'd tell if I asked." She smiles innocently. Melani: "So?" Me: "Well..." I inhale deeply. Me: "That's a toughy." She stares at me. Melani: "Well bye." She starts walking out of the room. Me: "Hey where are you going?" Melani: "Gonna see if Chaz is free on Saturday." She smiles. Me: "I was kidding! I'd pick you in a heartbeat!" I get down and hug her legs. Me: "Don't leave me, don't leave me." She drags me along. Melani: "Get off." She laughs. Me: "Don't leave me." She ruffles up my hair. Melani: "I'm not. Gosh." I relax my grip. Melani: "You're making me uncomfortable. 'Cause, you know... Your head is like, right THERE." Me: "What? Ohh..." I let go of her legs and stand up. Me: "You're not gonna leave me, right?" She nods. Me: "Kay good. C'mon." I pull her back to her room. Melani: "Well anyway, I'm tired. Night." Me: "Already?" She nods and crawls into the bed. Me: "Um, okay then. Night babe." I kiss her cheek. I go to Alex's room. These dudes are obsessed with video games. I flop onto the bed and watch them play. So boring. Alex: "Hey I'm bored. Wanna go prank Melani?" I immediately smile, remembering the past months. How Melani and I went from hating each other's guts, to dating. Wow that was something I never thought would happen. Me: "Don't prank her.. She's sleeping." Christian: "But that's the best kind of prank!" Me: "I don't care. She's my girlfriend now. And as much fun I think that would be, no." Alex rolls his eyes. Alex: "Kill joy." My phone rings and I go into the hallway. I sit down on the top step of the stairs and answer it.
