This Moment

James gazed at the woman who held his heart captive. She was singing, lulling his eardrums, sending him straight to the whimsical and floating feeling of cloud 9. Never in his 22 years of existence has it ever crossed his mind that he could ever attain something as surreal and grand like the moment he was in right now.

The crowd's screaming echoed in the background, shaking Doha's stadium. The spotlight shone at both of them, James's face covered with a sheen of sweat and his shirt plastered to his body. Nadine was no different for sweat was also dripping down her forehead, her sheer leggings feeling itchier by the second. The couple paid no mind, for this was bliss.

It was bliss to be able to make the people that supported them in their journey happy, blissful that they got to see the world hand in hand and it was sheer bliss to be able to sing their love to each other for the whole world to see.

James peered down at Nadine, catching her gaze. He held her gaze, singing the next verse of the song, simply letting the impact of the lyrics sink in. He thought back to how everything fell into place, how his world seemed to have stopped moving since the time he told her those three words. He knew for a fact that he has never loved like this before, where the concept of forever isn't something you have to remain faithful to because you have to, but because forever is something incomparable.

James slowly approached Nadine, his eyes fixated on her. He couldn't help but let out a breathy sigh for the way Nadine looked into his eyes, twinkling and all, left him breathless. The sheer delight that she expressed was exhilarating and the way how a few loose strands of her hair fell across her forehead reeled him in.

He continued to watch Nadine singing the next verse of the song, her smile was radiant, reflecting her soulful eyes. Right there and then, James felt himself being wrapped into the comforting arms of contentment. True, he never saw any of this coming nor did he wish for any of this, but somehow, everything was better than expected.

James then reached for Nadine's hand, interlacing his fingers with hers instantaneously as if it was second nature, his thumb automatically caressing her smooth skin. It took so much of James's willpower stop himself from bringing her hand up to his lips and shower it with unending kisses. For the rest of the song, their hands were interlocked, both lost into the lyrics of Yeng's Ikaw.

When they both reached the last note, harmonizing and all, James tugged Nadine closer to him, envoloping her in a side hug. He felt the warmth of her body when she was pressed against his side, his hand rubbing her shoulders and pulling her in just a tad bit closer to him. She momentarily rested her head on his shoulder, relishing the unexplainably good feeling of his close proximity. Nadine couldn't help but let out a giddy smile, giggling like a love struck school girl.

She definitely lived up to her name of being a bungisngis. Even though James and her have been doing the lovey dove act for over two years, more so now that they were an official couple, she still can't contain that overwhelming feeling of kilig whenever her boyfriend and her would do anything remotely close to being sweet.

"Kinikilig ba kayo?" Nadine asked the crowd. She was fairly certain that her giddiness was very obvious. The crowd's roar of yes-es sent her in another fit of giggles. The simple act of just looking into James's brown eyes was enough for her to act all flustered, her brain going haywire, making her freeze in place.

Holding James's hand right now while looking into his eyes, Nadine knew that this was where they were supposed to be.

Conquering the world together with your partner in crime doesn't sound too bad, right?
