"hey dear, i know you're still suffering from the death of your father, but everything'll be okay now, alright?" your mother cooed. i saw you glance at me worriedly but you looked away as soon as you started looking at me.
i nodded curtly, my hands trembling. "ye–yes. i–i'm fine."
she smiled at me. "okay, you can go talk with my son while i prepare dinner, alright?" she asked, patting my head like i was a child.
"okay." i wasn't going to talk to you, i never will. you're a jerk. you're... ugh!
"i'm sorry," you said sincerely, a small, weak smile on your face. "i'm sorry for all those times– i truly am– i'm so sorry."
you trembled as you buried your face into your hands. you kept mumbling "sorry" over and over again.
"it–it's alright. i–i'm fine." i say curtly, looking down at my tear - stained jeans. i felt sorry for you.
"the reason i did it– the reason i –"
"you can tell me later," i mumbled, getting up and dusting my jeans. "i'm going to take a nap."
you looked up at me. "okay."
