'This world will never be what I expected'. I sat up in bed. Another nightmare. A sigh escaped my mouth before a pushed myself up off of my bed. I drowsily grabbed my phone, hoping to find any messages. None.

'And if I don't belong, who would have guessed it?' My body slumped over when I saw the lack of contact I had with people. I tapped the contacts icon and scrolled through. I only had four contacts. The only people in my list were my mother, my father, my grandmother, and my best friend.
'I will not leave alone, everything that I own, to make you feel like it's not too late'. My phone buzzed in my hand. Speaking of my best friend. I answered but grew scared when the only sounds coming from the other side of the phone was crying. I paced around my room, worried about whether I should go to her, or stay here and wait.
'It's never too late'. I burst out of my house, racing to my friend's aid. I still had the phone pressed tightly to my ear, listening for any changes. My feet were flying down the road as her house came into view. I pushed myself more, trying to get there as fast as possible. I leapt up the porch steps and came to a halt at her front door.
'Even if say it'll be alright'. I stood for a few seconds, trying to get air back into my lungs. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. No one answered. Her parents weren't home. I started to speak through the door, coaxing her to open it.
'Still I here you say you want to end your life'. A shaky voice on my phone began to speak. The words that found their way to my ear startled me. She was telling me that she was going to end it, that she couldn't take it.
'Now and again we try to just stay alive'. I couldn't handle this. I growled at the door and quickly kicked in the door. I ran through her house, checking the bathrooms first. I had found her. She was crying on the floor, a piece of metal in her hands.
'Maybe we'll turn it all around 'cause it's not too late'. I lunged at her, pulling her into a hug. She quickly hugged me back, sobbing into my shoulder. Her arms wrapped tightly around my waist. I started to draw comforting circles on her back in an attempt to calm her down.
'It's never too late'. Her body stopped heaving as her sobbing turned into a soft sniffling. I let go of the hug and stood up. I held my hand out to her and she shyly grabbed it. I pulled her up off the floor. She gave me a small smile. Her eyes flicked down to the metal and sighed. She walked over to the sink and dropped it into a trashcan in the cupboard.
'No one will ever see this side reflected'. She looked up from the trash into the mirror. Her face was red and stained with tears. Her shoulders looked strong and her weight was that of a well-built girl. Her stomach growled, but she ignored it. I glared at her, clearly aware of the situation.
'And if there's something wrong, who would have guessed it'. She winced at my glare but she turned to me with a puzzled look. Her stomach growled again, giving away her "Innocent" look. I grabbed her hand again and dragged her to the kitchen.
'And I have left alone, everything that I own'. I opened the cupboards and searched for food. After grabbing a box of Macaroni, I rummaged through the kitchen for the other ingredients. My phone started to ring in my pocket. I pulled it out and looked at the caller ID. It was my mother. I stuffed my phone back in my pocket, too worried about my friend than my mother.
'To make you feel like it's not too late'. I handed her a bowl of Macaroni. She looked down at it and grumbled. She pushed it away and crossed her arms over her chest. I glared at her once more and shoved the bowl back at her.
'It's never too late'. Her stomach growled again. She looked up at me with sadness in her eyes. With a big breath, she picked up the spoon and started eating. I smiled.
'The world we knew won't come back'. As she ate, I wondered around the house. Pictures of me and her as children were nailed to almost every wall. Tears of joy started to blur my vision. We had known each other since we were two years old.
'The time we've lost can't get back'. I noticed they gap in our ages as I kept looking at the pictures. When we were ten, my father had received a new job and we had to move to another city. At the time, she and I had no way to communicate.
'The world we knew won't be ours again'. When my family finally moved back after several years, I searched for my dear friend. When I had found her, I noticed that her life had changed. Her parents were almost always working in an attempt to keep the family afloat. And her personality had changed. She laughed and smiled less. She didn't come over as often. She wasn't herself.
'This world will never be what I expected.' I heard a scream from the front door. I frantically rushed to the scene. In the door frame stood her parents. They were glaring at me. They yelled at my face, telling me off for breaking their door.
'And if I don't belong'. I was forced out of the house. Her father was calling my parents as a scrambled away.
'Even if I say it'll be alright.' My friend rushed past her parents and chased after me. Once she had caught up, she hugged me. She was crying again. I hugged her back, hoping we wouldn't be separated again. She kept apologizing to me. I just shushed her and whispered words in her ears to cheer her up.
'Still I hear you say you want to end your life'. She let me go and looked me in the eyes. Her face had become stern. She sighed and told me that she was not worth this mess. That she should just end it all.
'Now and again we try to just stay alive'. I couldn't take this any longer. I glared at her and lunged forward. I hugged her. My arms were so tight around her body that he breathing slowed a bit. There was no way I would let her do this to herself.
'Maybe we'll turn it all around 'cause it's not too late'. I had caught her by surprise. Tears were still rolling down her cheeks. Her arms well still down her sides. A gasp escaped her lips.
'It's never too late'. Her arms shot up to my waist. She hugged me back with a large amount of force. Her body was shacking from her sobs. We stopped hugging and I smiled at her. She gave me a small smile back.
'Maybe we'll turn it all around 'cause it's not too late'. We started walking back to her house. Her parents were still investigating the door frame. When they noticed me walking up, the glared at me. I bowed my head and explained why I kicked down their door.
'It's never too late'. Only silence. I looked up to see sympathetic looks on their face. They grabbed me and their daughter and brought us both into a big hug. I looked over at my friend. She was wearing a big smile.
