*2 weeks later*
"Hannah... wakey wakey rise and shine." Ingrid gently moved stroked Hannah's cheek.
"Uggggh... what? What time is it?"
"2pm you sleepy bunny."
"But why - oh..."
Ingrid laughed.
"Well aren't you just a smart cookie."
Hannah blushed.
"Do I get any morning kisses?"
"No."
A look of confusion spread across Hannah's face.
"Why not?"
"Because it's the afternoon, you doughnut!"
They both giggled. Hannah stopped before Ingrid and looked into her eyes. She removed a piece of her hair that was covering her eye and tucked it behind her ear.
Ingrid smiled back down at Hannah.
"What are you smiling at?"
"You. You're so beautiful Ingrid. I wish you could see that."
"What do you mean?" Ingrid suddenly went tense and secretive.
"I think you know what I'm on about..."
"I..."
"Don't... I know you've stopped eating."
They sat in silence for a what felt like hours.
"How do you know?"
"Well, you never eat breakfast; you take your lunch into ur room with you and bring your full plate down hoping nobody will notice; and you always refuse to go out to dinner, so make other excuses."
Ingrid looked ashamed.
"I'm not mad at you... I just want to know why."
Ingrid looked into Hannah's eyes as she sat up, begging her to not make her tell her.
"My... my period..."
"What about your period...?"
"I'm late..."
Hannah's jaw dropped.
"Have... have you taken a pregnancy test?"
Ingrid shook her head.
"I'm too scared."
"You need to do one Ingrid."
"I don't want to..."
"Not taking one won't make it go away if you are..."
"I know. But it'll keep me sane for a while."
"Ingrid. Starving yourself won't make you any better and it won't get rid of the baby. I can already see that's you are weaker and so much slimmer."
"We don't know that it's a baby. I could just be late."
"By 12 days? I doubt that."
Ingrid felt belittled.
"I'm sorry.... I didn't mean to shout at you. This is important Ingrid. Please take the test - for me."
"Okay, but I don't wanna do it alone."
"There's no way that I'd make you go through this alone Ingrid. I love you so much."
"I love you too."
They kissed and then walked into the bathroom so that Ingrid could take the test.
"What is it?"
Ingrid's face went pale and she began to cry.
"P-p-positive."
