"You don't fancy him as well, do you?" Asked Hermione worriedly, seeing Ginny's expression.

"What? No, no, of course not. Don't worry."

"Why are you looking like that then?"

"Oh, um," Ginny struggled to find an answer, "I-um, I just would never have expected that, at all!" She said in the end.

"Oh, ok." Said Hermione, but she wasn't fully convinced, and the successful Aguamenti charm she casted the next second - awarding her twenty points to Gryffindor - did hardly anything to console her.

Ginny went to bed that night feeling dazed and shocked. She hadn't said so earlier, but how could her and Hermione fancy the same person? Some friends didn't mind if they liked the same person in that way, but Ginny certainly did, and she was sure that Hermione definitely would do as well. How awkward would it be if he asked out one of them? Ginny couldn't imagine. And she knew that Ron fancied Hermione, and Dean Thomas seemed to fancy her. But neither Hermione or Ginny fancied either one of these boys - they fancied Harry.
