Fitz and I lean against the glass doors keeping us out of the lab. Jemma sits on the opposite side, legs crossed.
I hand Fitz his tools, whenever he asks. I watch him polish a metal rod, not even sure what it's for. he shows it to me when he's done, then taps it on the glass to show Jemma. She gives a small nod and a small smile before turning back around.
Coulson and everyone else come down the stairs. He gestures for me to come over. I give Fitz's hand a small squeeze and walk over.
"We believe Simmons contracted the virus when about thirty six hours ago, when she received an electrostatic shock from the first victim." I say shakily.
"How much time does she have?" Skye asks me.
"Based on when the firemen were infected, how quickly their symptoms manifested..." I do some mental math and sigh. "Two hours at most."
"That's enough time, right? asks Skye. "I mean, S.H.I.E.L.D. has dozens of labs and scientists working on this thing, don't they?"
"They do." assures Coulson. "How soon can you get us on the ground?" he asks May.
"Three hours." she replies. "Our path to the Sandbox has us right in the middle of the Atlantic."
"Sir, correct me if I'm wrong, but if we can't land in time..." says Ward.
"Simmons will release a pulse that will blow this plane right out of the sky." finishes Coulson.
"We can't just sit here and watch her die." says Skye. "We have to do something."
"There's only one person on this plane capable of finding a solution to this." I say. "And I'm willing to bet my life that she will." We all turn to look at Simmons.
"She's just a kid." says May.

Fitz puts the mechanical device into a box and covers it with a lid. The box slides through to the other side and Simmons grabs the device.
"I believe we have a winner." says Fitz reassuringly. "Fast and efficient. The perfect delivery mechanism."
Simmons gives us a quick glance before walkign over to her work station.
Fitz taps on the glass. "Hey, um, not that it was easy to find a mineralized solution that could suspend the vaccine and conduct electricity."
"I wish you wouldn't use the word vaccine" says Simmons worriedly.
"It's more of an antiserum." I explain to Fitz.
We follow Simmons' movements over to a glass container with three rats.
She takes a deep breath. "Okay, so, these antibodies should be able to target the virus's antigens, if this bloody alien virus even has antigens." She picks up the rat and zaps it with the device.
We watch in anticipation. The glass is filled with a blue light, and the rat slowly floats up.
"Well, that wasn't very cooperative of him." says Fitz helpfully.
