Meeting Holden

Chapter 4: Meeting Holden.

~Sophia~

I stand up quickly like everyone else as another wolf comes out from the trees.

He examines the area looking at each one of us when his eyes settle on Paisley and Luke growls.

The wolf snarls, opening his mouth to bare his canines as Luke snarls back extending his own canines and getting into a fighting position.

The wolf immediately backs away at this and runs over to the black wolf.

What a wuss.

The black wolf shifts into a tall, pale man with jet black hair as my heart hammers in my chest and something inside me starts going crazy. He then looks over at Mom as I try figuring out what the hell is wrong with me.

"Hello little Valerie." She gulps and stands there fear stricken with wide eyes and an open mouth.

That snapped me out of my loss of control bringing me to reality. My Mom has never looked that way, so full of fear and I didn't like that.

He then looks over to Luke then his eyes settle on me and he smirks as I stand there at a loss for words.

I felt like I was going crazy and disoriented. My heart hammered in my chest but I couldn't tell if it was from fear. I felt exhilarated and something stirred inside me, something strong.

"Not so little now, having your own pups and all." He continues then turns away looking at Dad.

"Ahh, and Greyson. I see you've finally let go of the whore Crystal to pursue your real mate. It was about time that you manned up and let go of that stupid contract." He goes on.

At the mention of Crystal, Mom's hands ball into tight fists as this man seems to have struck a nerve.

Whoever this Crystal is, Mom seems to really hate her which spikes my interest, because I've never heard of her. So who is she?

"Do not bring that disrespectful foul mutts name up in my pups, mates, or my presence." Mom snarls causing the man to smirk.

"Struck a nerve have I now?" He taunts causing Dad to snarl.

"Enough! I don't know who you are but I know you've caused my mate pain. And for that I already hate you. Now, get off this territory before I detach your head from your shoulders." Dad says lowly and I gulp.

"Very well. My name is Holden for your information," he says.

"I wish I could say it's a pleasure to meet you." Dad says with hard eyes.

"I'll just be on my way," Holden says then looks at me like he was trying to figure me out. I manage to glare at him and he gives a soft smile.

"I'll be seeing you soon my dear." He says and just like that he's gone making me gasp.

What does he mean he's going to see me again? I don't want to see him again.

"Mom," I say shakily looking over to her.

"Who was that?" I ask looking at her as Dad holds her.

"Sophia, not right now." Dad says quietly as he stares down at mom stroking her cheek lovingly as she looks into his eyes then burrows her head in his chest.

"We should go inside." Mom says quietly.

Doing just that, we decide to call it a day and head to the Alphas home to further talk things over about the soon to come war.

Short chapter, but next chapter will be longer, I'm trying to catch up to the other book that is in sync with this one but in Luke's P.O.V.
