"Bye Mom!" I hug my mother tightly
"Remember to make good decisions" she hugs back
I'm Jordan Skylar Wicket, I'm eighteen years old and I'm about to enter college. I got a scholarship in Arizona State College where all my relatives graduated from.
I got in a cab and went off to college, I waved to my mom as I saw her tearing up.
When I arrived, I saw tons of people on the campus.
"Hey freshie! Do you need any help in getting started?" A girl with blonde hair asked cheerfully
"Sure, thanks" I smiled at her
I got my room key and it was room number 513. The girl who assisted me who was named Casey helped me bring my bags up to my room
"You're on your own, here's my number if you need a friend or some help" she handed me a piece of paper and I nodded
I opened the door to see a girl that was unpacking her bags. She was wearing a grey hoodie and a matching grey beanie on her head.
"Hey!" She approached me and smiled
"You must be my roomie" I shook her hand
"Astrid, my name's Astrid"
"Jordan"
"If you don't mind, I already kind of fixed the place with some lights if you don't mind"
Some plain Christmas lights dangled all over the room and there were a few lanterns
"It's nice, I think that I have something to add" I brought out more colorful lights from my bag
"I have a feeling that we'll be good friends...very good friends" she laughed
I fixed my side and brought out my bulletin board and some pictures to hang
"Hey Jordan, have you gotten your schedule yet?" Astrid asks
"Not yet, want to get them together?" I asked standing up
She nods, we went down to the information counter and asked for our schedules. Astrid and I had very similar free days and breaks which meant that we would hang out a lot at our dorm room.
Astrid put up Netflix on our tv, we chose to watch a marathon of Doctor Who and a bit of Sherlock
"Who knew that we have a lot in common? Doctor who, Sherlock, classes and schedules" I mumbled
There was loud knocking from the door, we looked at each other and we both opened the door to reveal a face that I didn't want to see
"Hey Sam, what's up?" Astrid asked him
"I just wanted to say hello" he mumbled
"This is my room mate, Jor-" i cut her off
"I know him, we dated in high school for three years" I bit my lip
"Can I talk to Jordan in private?" Sam points behind him
Astrid nods and I follow him outside my dorm. He smiled at with a toothless grin.
"I didn't know that you would come here in this school" he said smiling
"Well yeah, we broke up because we were going to be apart and here we are"
"Do you want to hang out in my dorm?" He asked and I nodded
Their dorm looked similar to ours but it didn't look as lit as ours. There stood a guy with a rather long fringe and pale skin
"This is James and he's my room mate, this is Jordan my...friend" he said trailing off
"Nice to meet you" we said in unison as Sam stood there awkwardly
There was banging on the door to reveal Astrid standing there
"I need my room mate please" she smiled at Sam and I rushed to her
We walked to our dorm which was just next door and I looked at her curiously
"You're lucky that I got you out of that sticky situation" she smiled
I went into the bathroom and change into my old sweats from my old high school and a old loose shirt that I actually snatched from Sam when we were dating
"I like your style, lazy style" Astrid chuckled
I laid on my bed and called my best friend from home
"I miss you" I told Sabrina, the best friend in the world
"I miss you too, how's your day?"
"I bumped into someone that i broke up with because of college separation" I heard her start to screech into the phone
"Are you serious?!?!"
"It get's worse, he lives in the room next door" I held my neck
"That's a weird situation you've got there"
"And I have the best room mate ever!" I say it loudly for Astrid to hear
"Well, I have to go now! Good luck with college, I love you"
"I love you too Sab!!!" I smile
I start to get comfortable in my bed as I start to sleep on the comfy bed
