Once upon a time, when our world was young, there was a young Bird.

All that young Bird wanted was to be noticed. But no matter what the Bird did nobody wanted to look at it, because it had dull feathers; and nobody wanted to listen to it because they didn't like its voice. Still, no matter what it did, it couldn't capture the attention of anyone, bird or animal.

So it asked the Sun and the Moon every time it saw them, "Please. Please, could you make them see me?"

"Can you make somebody see me?"

But they gave no answer.

For so long, all of its life, the Bird lived unnoticed. Even by the black Crow it sought for a lover. But its wish was never granted, and it passed away.

Then, from its own ashes came the Bird. It was born with the fiery glory of the Sun, to reward all its fidelity to its word.

The Crow noticed after so long.
