24) Last Night at the Capitol

Thalia Farechild's POV:

I sit on my bed in my room after the interviews. I still have on my green dress and my blonde hair is still curled.

I can't believe it.

The games are tomorrow.

In a week, all of us will be dead but one, and there is a good chance I will be one of the dead.

Who knows, I could be dead tomorrow.

I finally decide to shower and get dressed in a fuzzy nightgown.

I go to bed early, not bothering to talk to Emiliye.

Harper Beauregard's POV:

I sit on Promise's bed with her, asking her questions.

"So, is there anybody here with me?" I ask Promise.

"Yes actually," she says.

"Who?" I ask, anxious.

"She says her name is Caralee, and that she's your sister," replies Promise.

My eyes get wide with amazement.

I can't belive it, my sister is here.

"Did she say anything?" I ask excitedly.

"She asked how the twins are, and go ahead and tell her, she can hear you, but you can't hear you," says Promise.

"Willow and William are doing great. They love life. William gets into some trouble, but Willow always gets him out of it," I say, tearing up.

After a while, we hear a knock at the door.

It's Felicity.

"Hey, can you come with me? Silk has been depressed and if Promise can talk to her brother, maybe she'll perk up a bit," says Felicity.

"Sure," replies Promise.

We both get up and follow Felicity up to their floor. She leads us to Silk's room.

"Silk, I have a surprise for you," says Felicity.

Promise walks over to Silk.

"Silk, your brother is here, he's sitting right next to you," says Promise.

Silk looks up and smiles a bit.

"Really? What is he saying?" Silk asks.

"He says no matter what, he'll always be there for you," Promise says.

"Tell him I want to die, to be with him," says Silk.

"He can hear you, and he says don't die, win for him. But if you do die, he's waiting for you," says Promise.

I smile as we leave Silk's room.

Ophelia Starke's POV:

Earlier I overheard Ember talking to Lydia and Nellie.

She wants to kill Serenity for being allies with me.

It's not Serenity's fault.

It's mine.

So Ember will have to go through me first.
