sophia furrows her eyebrows together in pain and confusion. she cannot believe that hadley would do something like this, especially to luke. maybe he enjoyed it, maybe he didn't, but she still made him do it with her and planned to tell sophia all about how luke had fucked her senseless. as the question of hadley's fate is asked, sophia feels a mixture of emotions swirling around in the pit of her stomach.

these two inhumane men are trying to make the teenagers rival against each other, and it's beginning to work.

"stab yourself in the thigh again or shoot hadley?" sophia is asked again. hadley feels certain sophia would never do such a thing, as sophia stares at the filthy floor.

sophia is trembling with the anger coursing through her body. she feels like somebody has pushed themselves into the shell of her body, and is now doing the talking.

"i'm sick of you, hadley." sophia lowly says. "i fucking forgave you earlier, do you remember that?" she says, her voice a slight whine.

"yes, i know you did." hadley sighs.

"i- i can't believe you, hadley." michael says, his eyebrows knitted together in confusion.

hadley sits, feeling helpless and ashamed.

"pass me the gun." sophia simply says, her voice full of confidence.

"what? no, sophia." luke says with absolute urgency. "don't pass her the gun."

"she's the one who asked for it." the rabbit replies, untying sophia's hands and passing her the gun.

"don't hurt anybody," luke says, frightened she may hurt herself too. he doesn't want sophia to be living with the blood staining her hands. sophia raises the gun at hadley, her fingers trembling over the trigger as hadley begins to writhe and scream in her chair. "sophia, i love you." he reminds her, on the verge of tears.

sophia halters, glancing at luke and gently lowering the gun. a small part of luke wants sophia to do the deed and shoot hadley; it would solve multiple issues. however, it's morally wrong.

"i love you too." sophia says, her voice barely audible.

"sophia, don't do this." michael tentatively whispers.

"i have to," she says with defiance, losing all ability to control herself as she raises the gun that is involuntarily trembling in her fingers. "i'm sorry hads." she says.

"sophia, no! we've been best friends for years," hadley gasps for breath as she loudly cries. "you don't want to do-"

she pulls the trigger, her eyebrows pulled together in anger. as soon as the bullet cutting through the air rings in their ears and the bullet collides with hadley, a soft frown settles on sophia's face. all of then open their eyes from flinching away, the three of them in absolute shock as sophia glances down at the gun in her hand, her mouth open in surprise. she knows the relief she feels is completely wrong and twisted, however that relief is soon replaced with grief and heart ache.

she cannot believe she just did that. the blood that splattered on the wall and slightly on michael turns their stomachs.

"no," sophia whispers. her eyes are dry from the vast amount of crying, and she feels numb to the core. "i- i'm..." she glances at luke with pleading eyes.

"it's okay, you had to." luke whispers.

but did she really have to? michael sits looking at the girl who was so lively only hours ago as she ran across the teacups and let her hair be lifted with the warm breeze. michael found hadley irritating, they all did. but that didn't justify sophia shooting hadley. sophia knows she shouldn't have done it; hadley has been her best friend since they were young, yet she felt somebody else in her body. somebody else that isn't her.
