Playing With Fire

I take a deep breath and try to clam down but nothing working I am on edge. I think I am ready for what happens next but I am not. Prince Nottingham's attack hits me straight on I am caught off guard the blow sends me flying through the air and crashing to the ground Rascal starts to run to help but I put my hand to stop him. I get a summon a wall of huge brambles. I can't see my mothers face but I can tell she is shocked. All the guest run for the exits the only people left are Cloe Lawrence Jack Cheshire Rascal Nottingham me and my mom. Cheshire is taking care of most of the guards Jack who doesn't have the best fighting skills is helping Cheshire. Lawrence and Cloe are taking care of reinforcements while me and rascal take care of price Nottingham. My mom summons her own wall of thorns which are fighting to tear mine down. Instead of trying to beat her with strength I use my head. My thorny vines whip her around with my wall gone Prince Nottingham tries to hit me with another blow and free the queen who right now is looking more green than red. Rascal steps in a throws a single card that expands and captures the energy then launches it back at him. Prince Nottingham look taken back and frankly tired. Seeing that I am distracted my mom pulls out a small flask and pours it on the vines that retreat when the potion touches it.

"All right dear mommy is done playing games now, you wanted to play well we're going to play" my mother said

She summons up huge vines of thorns which slither towards me.

"The game can end right now dear all you have too do is come back home with me and marry prince Nottingham and every thing will go back to the way it was" she said with a voice full of silk

"I doge vines left and right jumping a ducking many of the vines one caches my dress and tears it making it easier to move around but it also reveals my sword I look at Rascal he battling Prince Nottingham agin for the second time. I trip over a vine the quickly swirl around crawling up my legs faster than I can move. Now there raping around my waist and hands till I am up to my neck in vines. Rascal looks away from his battle for a second to see I am trapped Nottingham cuts his side instead of a crimson red I see black. One hand holding his bleeding side the other on his sword. The thorns rap tight but they don't punisher my skin. I use one of my own vines to wiggle inside my cocoon of thorns and lift my sword into my hand I quickly cut my way out of the cocoon I race to help rascal. My mother noticed I had escaped raced after me.

"Rascal are you ok?!?"
I ask

"Ya I am fine" he say in pain. He try's to hide the blood. We stand back to back fighting together instead of against each other.

"Two on two this seems fair" 
I say I am facing towards Prince Nottingham and Rascal is facing my mom

"Ah I final have the pleasure of dueling Mrs. Rose hearts"
Nottingham says

"Well I can't say the same" I say with my best scowl

"Still with that low life Jester I see"
He says with a grin

"The only low life I see here is you"
I say to Nottingham

"Rose Rose my what a temper you have" he says

"Rose dear you must keep your temper under control" my mother said

"Just like you" I say scoffing
Obviously she did not like that comment cause her face turns bright red

"Ladies first" prince Nottingham says as he lunged at me I swiftly doge what might have been a fatal blow.
I pull a fast one on him and slice his right cheek. Blood drips down his face and stains his suit.

"Ah you stupid girl you have ruined my face, my clothes , and my dignity"
He said angry and red faced

"Wait you had dignity " I say teasingly

"Just you wait Rose once were married your life will be a living nightmare"
He said

"Who said we are going to get married"
I say as I block his blow and knock the sword right out of his hands I use my new vines to grab the sword and bring it to me I bring my foot behind his knee causing him to fall my vines rap around his arms so that he stays where he is.
I see my mom and Rascal fighting. I use the hilt of my sword to knock out prince Nottingham. And rush to help Rascal who is struggling against my mom. We cut vine after vine rending my mom useless she has no other fighting skills that I am a were of she is on the ground she looks pathetic her dress all torn her hair a mess. Rascal takes up his sword swings it down and before I even know what I am doing I block his swing preventing him from cutting off my moms head. As we press are swords together for the second time I mouth one word to him please. His face seemed surprised but he let up just as Jack and Cheshire came running in

"We got to go now" Jack said
Then Lawrence and Cloe came in with a worried look

"Where the passage" I ask

"Behind the thrones" Jack said

All six of us push on the thrones till there out of the way. Behind them is a small trap door leading down a dark room. I look at my mom she look petrified I have seen that look before she flashing back to her child hood.
She mouthed one word to me before I jumped down the hole why.

"It's pitch black down here"
I say

"Welcome to the mushroom caves this is where we hide the giant caterpillar"
Jack said

"Why down here" I ask

" one because he smokes yuck two we don't have to feed him it's all you can eat buffet.. For a caterpillar that is"
He paused "and cause he might know where the jewel is"

"Wait how did you know"
I said

"Rascal tolled me" Jack said
I give Rascal a stern look

"Yuck the floor and walls are so squishy " Cloe said that's when Lawrence scoops her up a carries her. Even in the dark I can tell Cloe is bright red. We find a small room it's filled with smoke we all cover our noses. We hear a raspy voice say

"Who are you"
Then we hear a fit of coughing

"Mr Caterpillar it's me prince Jack"
He said

"Ah Jack my boy come for more advise"
He said

"No but i do have a question for you do you know where the jewel is the magic one" Jack asked

"I do boy why do you ask do you think it will help you with that cat girl you have a crush on" he said

"No sir and her name is Cheshire" he said through gritted teeth "and she is in the room"

"Oh hello kitty girl I mean Mrs Cheshire" he said

"Hi "she said

"Excuse me mister caterpillar but we're in a bit of a rush" I said

"Who might you be young lady"
He asked

"Rose hearts sir" 
I say politely
