'Everything worked out in the end. Connor and M'gann had successfully stopped the prison break, however thought of Renegade still haunted Connor. He had told M'gann slightly about the encounter he had that night with Renegade, and how he wanted to stay and investigate, but in the end he went back to Mount justice. He told M'gann to keep quiet about it. Whoever Renegade was, he was hiding from Batman. If batman found out, Renegade might flee, that is if he hasn't already. After the stopping of the jail break, Negima, the riddler, was reported missing the next day without a trace. Did Renegade have anything to do with that? When they returned to Mount Justice, it did not take Megan's mind powers to tell that Batman was furious about something and was too busy to grace the team with much of his presence before returning to Gotham.
"Dude, Bat's is angrier than usual." Wally murmured to the team. "I wonder if has to do with the new guy that showed up in Gotham."
"New guy?" Artemis asked, seeming intrigued. "Do you mean that hired assassin? I heard from Green Arrow that he actually beat Batman in a fight once."
"No way! No one can beat Batman!" Wally laughed a bit as it was some joke. " I heard from my uncle that Batman could never catch him long enough to get into a fight."
M'gann pursed her lips, eyes glancing towards Connor, who remained stoic during the entire conversation. She had promised Connor that she would not talk about his encounter, but Renegade sounds like a horrible person. Connor caught on that she was staring at him and shook his head before speaking. "So you know a lot about this...assassin?"
"Oh well yeah... Renegade is well known, but..I guess you would not know about him because you were...y'know...not around when he first showed up three years ago. The guy is super strong and leaves no trace.. That is why Batman is so eager to find him and put him to justice." Wally explained. "Dude must have had years of training to basically disappear like that."
"I doubt it." Connor mumbled slightly, remembering the young face of the boy he had met in Belle Reve. There was no way a child that age could have trained for long, unless he was programmed mentally like he was..which was unlikely.
"What makes you say that?" Kaldur asked, gaze turning to look at Connor.
"He hasn't been trained long..he is too...childish.." Connor finished. There was no point hiding this from his team, it sounded like Renegade has already fled Belle Reve and has returned to Gotham. "Renegade was in Belle Reve when we were undercover."
"Dude what!? You met him!?" Wally stared at awe. "You are pulling my leg right? Right?....Did he look cool? Like the assassins in the movies?"
"Will you shut up Kid Mouth!" Artemis snapped at before returning a glance towards Connor. "Let him finish!"
Connor frowned a bit at Wally's words. The boy he met at Belle Reve did not look at all like an assassin..he was young and he looked so innocent.. "He does not look like an assassin." Connor confirmed, feeling that was a suitable answer.
"What does that mean exactly? Is he like some old man or something? Wait...If he was in Belle Reve, why haven't anyone of us heard of his capture?" Wally had a puzzled look on his face, not understanding.
"He went on his own free will." Connor replied, remembering what Renegade had said, that he snuck in to Belle Reve on his own.
"That does not make any sense." Artemis scoffed. "No one goes to prison willingly Connor."
