Clik!!

Clash clash clash clash clash!!

Clik!!

I listened to music produced by our swords clashing against each other .Rapiers to be precise.Everyone were standing outside arena and watching our sword fight intently.I imagined us from their viewpoint. It must be looked like well choreographed dance.Kurt seemed to know how exactly I would block his strike. And even I knew his combat style through and through. We moved in perfect synchronization.

Kurt tried to surprise me by changing his aim. He tried to stab me in ribs by tip of his rapier but I dodged and aimed for stem of his sword. He saw it coming. He caught that and used all his strength to flip my sword from my hand.He was too strong.I stumbled backwards. His eyebrows, scrunched together with  concentration, started to relax. Sword-fighting came to me naturally. It wasn't something I needed to concentrated on.But he was definitely sweating to win this fight. We were well matched opponents. He had strength and I had strategy.

He was pressing Forte of his rapier on Debole of mine.I couldn't stand this pressure any longer. All he had to do was wait for few seconds till my hold of handle loosens. Then he would  just flex his sword and win the match.I had to distract him at any cost.

I stepped on his foot.It was stupid but hey I needed to win.

In any way it had desired effect. He was taken by surprise.Pressure was decreased and I was back in fight."That was cheating.I was about to win"He complained loudly. Murmurs started in crowds. Ughh girls!! They always sided with Kurt cause he was perfect knight in shining Armour.

And boys!!!Don't even get me started on them. They always wanted to see 'damsel in distress'.They obviously wanted Kurt to win.

I snorted at that thought.

"I don't care as long as I win."I laughed a free laugh."and TECHNICALLY I didn't break any rule."I shouted towards crowd hoping to shut them up.Anger lit up in his eyes.

We were rivals.Kurt was only one who could beat me if he tried very hard.Others weren't that skilled.Only person I couldn't beat yet was mom.She was instructor-cum-owner of Hale's Academy. I couldn't imagine any one else perfect for this role. She was perfect in everything.Name a weapon and she had mastery on it.Be it bows and arrows, sword, dagger, javelin or spear.

She had tried to train me also but I wasn't that good.I loved swords and daggers but not spears n javelin.

Kurt's sword was pressed against mine again. He fought more fiercely. Determination was clearly visible in his eyes. That made me even more  determined to win.He wasn't used to lose either. He was fencing champion of New-York and fighting with me gave him real practice. He was member of academy since he was 7 And we had grown up fighting together.I wouldn't say we were best friends or something but we certainly knew each other completely.

Our  fight continued. We both were trying to win. That was the thing I liked about him.He never let me win easily.Eventually everyone was bored of watching us.I mean our fight.Arena was almost vacant except us.

"Lets call it tie"Kurt suggested after we both were sweaty due to workout."Common Matthews you need to do better if you want to get selected in team."I insisted.

"Why you don't participate??You will win easily especially when you have tricks under your sleeves"he was mad at me.He was one to stick to the rules to win.But I always tried to find loophole in rule.

Everyone asked me this question but I never thought of sword-fighting as sport. It was something much more to me.But I knew he wouldn't understand so I taunted "unlike some people I don't like to show off my skills"
