All I had was time, which is funny because people always claimed that they never have enough. Time. I had too much. They only gave me the watch on my wrist, a constant reminder of how long I've been imprisoned, how long people have searched for me and probably given up, a count down until life would slip from my dirty, tired body.
Drip
Actually, no, how ungrateful of me, they hadn't just left me a watch! They left me the scraps of clothing on my back, what once was a lovely sun dress now resembled a dirty rag that looked as if it had been used to clean a sewer in New York. My clothing served as a reminder that I was nothing but a repulsive prisoner here. They left me with my thoughts, how stupid I was to get myself in this situation, where had they taken me, was I still in New York? Was I even still in America? They left me with the fear, the gut wrenching feeling that told me the worst had yet to come.
Drip
And they left me in a room so dark that I couldn't see my hand even if I put it right in front of my eyes, the only source of light I had was the digital watch they put on my wrist.

You get use to the darkness after a while, you even get use to the sounds of scurrying feet, hissing and scratching. You get use to the smell, the passing of time, even my thoughts but-
Drip
But that god forsaken drip! The constant sound of water slowly eroding the ground that it fell on, the pause before it dripped again and again, the lack of consistency with each drip, God it was driving me crazy!
Drip
Maybe it wasn't the dripping water that was driving me crazy, maybe it was the daily doses. I checked my watch, praying the light would come on again and when it did, I promptly feared the moment it wouldn't click on and allow me the slight relief that came from the illumination. One minute until half past five, I prepared myself for the fight the would soon transpire. Taking a shaky breath, I watched as the digital lines on the face of my watch transformed from twenty-nine to thirty.

I quickly closed my eyes and faked sleep. Just as my eyes close and my body lost the tension that came with being conscious, the door burst open and all hell broke loose.

Thanks so much for reading the first part of my story! So what do you think is going on, and most importantly who's coming through that door? Vote, comment, tell me what you think and I'll buy you some chocolate (actually because of the way my bank account is set up, you might have to settle for a picture of chocolate... but it's the thought that counts!)
But please help me get just 10 votes! Happy reading!
