Chapter 24

Jeron's POV

"Rees left. No one knows where she is." Ahia Jeric said and its as if everything around me stopped. Natulala ako. Pero I remained calm. Sinabi nya na ayaw nya ng mga rushed and violent reactions ko.

"She really did want a clean break, Ahia. Galit na galit siguro sya sakin kaya agad agad syang umalis." I told him.

"So you're not going to rush off and find her? Hindi ka magi-iskandalo?" naguguluhang tanong ni Ahia.

"No, Ahia." sagot ko.

"Wow. Ikaw ba yan Jeron? Because knowing you, you'd be out of here moments ago and you'd be going to all the possible places Rees could go to."

"Except that I'm using my head this time. She doesn 't want me around now. And I'm the last person she wants to see as of this moment. Kapag nagpakita ako sa kanya, baka lalong hindi na nya ako balikan. Ahia Jeric si Rees na kasi eh. Oo, nakaka-isang taon pa lang kami. Pero when you feel it, you just feel it. At ngayon alam kong ito yung kailangan nya. Kaya kahit masakit, kahit na ayoko, ibibigay ko sa kanya yung space na hinihingi nya. Yung space na gusto nya. Kasi gusto kong maramdaman nya na kahit wala na kami, sobrang mahal ko pa din sya. At kapag handa na ulit sya, I'll still be here, loving her still."

"Jeron, I'm at a loss for words. Kakabreak nyo lang kanina ha. Tapos ganyan ka na mag-isip. Kaya mo naman palang mag mature. Bakit hinayaan mo pa na umabot sa ganito? Na kailangan nyo pang magbreak bago ka tumino?"

"And that is my biggest mistake ever, Ahia. I should take all the blame. Tanggap kong galit sakin si Dichi Almira ngayon. Sobrang naging close sila ni Rees eh. Kasi kahit ako galit na galit ako sa sarili ko. You said it yourself, Ahia. Hindi naman kailangang umabot sa break up eh. Pero hinayaan ko. I am stupid and I wasn't thinking clearly. I lost the greatest girl that there is."

Rees' POV

I sighed as I parked my car in our driveway. I wasn't supposed to be home yet but due to the UCLA shindig, I had to be home earlier than expected.

It's true. I had it all planned even before Jeron came into the picture. I really haven't told him about it because I honestly did not expect that I will be chosen for this grant. Sobrang bihira lang kasi na may mapili sila sa school namin because other more prestigious Colleges of Pharmacy are noticed. I really thought I didn't have a chance but here it is. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I couldn't let it pass.

"Ate Rees!" sumisigaw na labas ni Ellie once I got out of the car. Niyakap nya ko and I had to take a step backwards dahil sa pagkabigla.

"Elliepants! Grabe ka. It's only been three days pero bakit ka ganyan? What more pag nasa LA na ako diba?" I said.

"Ate naman eh. Iiyak na naman ako nyan." she said and pouted.
