ok so I love the arctic monkeys they're so great and hellllla talented like so many ppl dislike them just because they've become more mainstream?? Like you can't diss them musically bc the vocals are killer and so are the instrumentals so unless you have a legitimate reason as in other than the fact that they're "too well known," or "they were your little secret and now they're not and u hate it!!!" Gtfo

Also, not 2 be that person, but I feel like a lot of people only really listen to their album AM like ok cool do u but also realize that they have so so many other good songs that are constantly slept on omg.

It's such a sweet song and you can feel the tension between the two ppl in the relationship like "wtf you're an idiot and you're always fucking up" vs. "I know I screw up but i'm willing 2 b the biggest fool ever if it means you'll love me/ let's stop arguing and kiss a little bc you're my world" gahhh this song is legit perfection)

•Dance Little Liar- Humbug album

(ThE inTRO tho fuck me up omg. I really really really dig the drumming and the fucking guitar solo damn and the way Alex says "a liar takes a lot less time" makes me want to strangle myself oh my god

•Black Treacle- Suck It and See album

(Just a really good feel good song. It's the type of song you feel the urge to sing along to it's lit)

•She's Thunderstorms- Suck it and See album

(Fuckingggggg hell I think this song is so so beautiful like apparently Alex wrote this about his then-girlfriend, Alexa Chung, and holy shit if someone wrote a song like this about me, I'd cry for days it's so sweet ahh it's delightful.)

•The Hellcat Spangled Shlalala- Suck It and See album

(Idk I had the urge to mention the beach boys when thinking about this song?? I have no idea how to explain it it's not quite do-whoppy but it sure is swell)

So yeah that's my list. This isn't me being a pretentious fuck who thinks AM isn't a good album simply bc it's the most popular like it has soooooo many good jams (um hello wanna be yoURS is literally the soundtrack of my heart bye), I just wanted to shed light on some songs that I feel don't get as much love/recognition as they should.
Also I find it so great that the band has always been together like they started as these awkward long haired lil teens and they've evolved both physically and musically and really come into themselves and I just think it's neat that they've gone through all of that together and omfg I remember when I went through that phase where I thought Alex Turner was daddy afffffff like fuck me up pls Sir it was a mess but I still love him and think he's quite literally a musical genius idk if I imagined this bc I've romanticized him so much, or if I actually read this somewhere but I'm pretty sure he writes the majority of the songs for the band which shows how UTTERLY TALENTED HE IS. He'll forever be apart of the indie rock holy trinity yo

oH AND JUST TO FURTHER PROVE HOW GREAT AND TALENTED ALEX IS LET'S ALL TURN OUR ATTENTION TO THE FUCKING KICKASS SOUNDTRACK HE MADE FOR SUBMARINE, WHICH IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIES FUCK. HE'S JUST A MUSICAL GOD AMONG MEN AND I'M IN AWE OF HIM AND HIS CONSTANT STATE OF COOL AND I REALLY WANT TO BE HIS FRIEND AND HANG OUT WITH HIM AND SMOKE SHITTY CIGARETTES AND HEAR HIM TALK ABOUT GIRLS HE ONCED LOVE, AND GIRLS HE ONCE HATED AND GIRLS THAT MAKE HIM HATE LOVE AND I FEEL LIKE HE'D BE A BIT OF AN ASSHOLE AND A PRETENTIOUS PRICK AT TIMES, BUT IT'S OKAY BC HE'S GOOD AND HE KNOWS HE'S GOOD SO I'M 500% OKAY WITH HIM TAKING THAT LUXURY. I FEEL LIKE ALL GREAT ARTISTS NEED TO BE A LIL TEENSY BIT CONCEITED BUT I'M GOING ON A TANGENT. ALEX IS GREAT AND SO ARE HIS OTHER BANDMATES.
