Step, step, step. The sound rang through my head. I knew my new master was coming. I am a exine slave after all....meaning I'm the only slave he/she owns. "Mauki, nice to meet you, I am Hauli, your new master" I couldn't help, but start to shake. I don't know what this man would do to me. My old master only made me clean. What possibly could happen now? I started shaking uncontrollably. "What is the matter Mauki?" Hauli asked, "Nothing master, no need to worry." I lied under my breath. My heart felt cold and broken in my own words. Tears started flowing down my cheeks, suddenly I was lifted off the cold ground. I kept my eyes shut. I had no idea what would happen. My master carried me and sat me down and a rose silk bed. "Mauki, look at me dear" I refused. A slave was never supposed to look at their master. "Master...I could never let you look at such a horrifying soul such as my own." I looked down. I was so cold, so scared. My hands started to tremble as I saw my master sit beside me. "Mauki..."
