As I lay trying to sleep in Afghanistan I hear my dog crying. In dead silence "shhh" I say. I can't sleep. I am scared to death, I can't sleep. I never thought this day would come, a gun beside my bed, snipers in call, full scale patrols, choppers over head and soldiers getting ready to receive a task. This is one of the hardest most brutal times of my life. We have a really hard task, well I mean a patrol, straight into enemy territory with threats and traps everywhere. They are armed with AK's and RPGs fully loaded with green tips. And probably a tank.
It's been 1 day since I got here. and then suddenly an alarm goes off and a shot has been fired. I grab my gun and try to wake up my dog. I get my gear on, thank god my locker is in the same room as me, I run out side and
A barrel is Aimed at me, his finger on the trigger. My dog jumps up and tackles him, "good boy trigger" I say. Then suddenly a grenade flies through the door and the last thing I remember is waking up in the hospital. "where am I " I say, your home. The nurse says. Where's my dog I yell, he's at the vet but he's ok! He has some issues with war he goes crazy the nurse says.
