I walk into the parking lot were the Mob practices. I took a deep breath and checked that my hood was still up. I walked through the lot, thinking about my mom. I've had enough, she pushed me over the edge I've been teetering on for the past however many years.
I walk into the garage hoping Emily will recognize me. We've known one another since senior year of high school. Even if they don't go for my idea, they'll still have it stuck in the back of their minds.
Soon as I take a step inside, eyes of dozens after dozens if dancers have their eyes in me. a girl maybe a little older than me stepped in front of me, arms crossed. she had slightly blondish hair, and she was African American.
"hey, can we help you?", she said
I rolled my eyes,"I need to see Emily Anderson"
"Why do you need Em", she asked asking a guy with a camera and dreadlocks. the red light on the camera was on and was pointed at me. I put my hand in front of the lens. "I just need to see her, please get that camera out of my face, seriously, man", the guy with the dreadlocks had put the camera closer to my face. he closed the camera and walked away.
"Whats your name?", The girl said
I sighed,"My name is Elizabeth", I thought about the girl in front of me,"do you plan the Mobs"
she looked kind of puzzled, then Emily came walking up.
I pushed past the crowd and gave Emily a hug.
"Hey its great to see you, what are you doing here?", she ask, I smiled
"I need to talk to the leader of the mob"
"You mean Leaders", I look behind Em, Two guys stood, arms crossed. Emily walked over to the taller of the two. "Elizabeth, you remember when I was telling you about that Sean guy? ", I nodded slightly, she nodded her head toward the taller guy. The other leader, the shorter one that was still taller than me, said,"Elizabeth, long name"
sean elbowed him in the ribs as I snickered," yeah well, look the reason I'm here is because I want you to start Mobbing again," everyone looked shocked
"And why would we do that? We have no reason to flash mob", the short guy said, the girl from before told him to stop being rude, and called him Eddy
"your reason to mob is that people that are in their low 20s, are getting crap for all the little 'mistakes', they make. And I personally don't wanna take their crap."
3rd Person POV
Elizabeth had tears in her eyes after that, No one knew the pain shed gone through over the last ten years. Emily knew part of what her past was, but out of respect, Elizabeth never told her the whole story.
Eddy could see the pain behind her eyes, as could almost everyone else. Emily took her away to have a private conversation.
"what's going on with this huge protest?"
Elizabeth looked around, uneasy," I was staying with Rob, I wanted to take in a baby girl with SIDS. she just needed a home. I'm 23, I should be able to have a child. I got crap from everyone, and the kid died."
Emily was shocked, but she understood. she went to go talk with the Leaders.
"so, what's up with all this young 20 year old getting discouraged?", Jason said
Emily sighed, "please just, trust me, she can do a lot of good for all of us. there's a woman named Karen Jameson, saying that anyone under the age of 30 needs to get their act together and get their facts straight. She's a dancer better than me, and Ive known her since high school. just trust me"
"I'm in", Sean said
"it can't hurt to see if we can make a change, were in", Penelope said on behalf of her and Jason, and Iris and Mercury.
Eddy wasn't sure, he pinched the bridge of his nose, a headache coming on. "why must you guys do this to me, all right, we'll give her a shot, but she's gonna be in the mob to really earn my respect"
everyone cheered at the new member.
