"I can't believe my bestfriend is having a baby." I looked over at Josiah. We could've went straight home but I asked if we could just go to the park and talk. "I didn't even know she was having sex."

"Yeah dis crazy. Dats da last thing I would've thought."

"I mean like aren't we too young to be having sex anyway?" I dropped my head into my hands. I was no longer a virgin by force. That's not something I wanted.

"Different strokes for different folks."

"So.. Have you like.. Have you had sex before?" I glanced over at him.

He nodded his head. "Yeah, uh a few times."

"With who?"

"A girl."

"Josiah." I groaned.

"Why ya wanna know?"

"Well how many girls was it?"

"One."

"So one girl a few times?"

"You are correct."

"Who is she?"

"Why you wanna know?"

I shrugged. "I just do."

Ha kissed his teeth shaking his head. "A shorty named Bethany."

"White girl?"

"Were you guys dating?"

"No, just fuckin'."

"And why the hell not?"

That's not what I meant. It is, but it's not what I meant to say right now. I was just going on and on about how we're too young.

"You want me ta' fuck you?" He arched a eyebrow at me and I quickly broke eye contact looking down.

"No, no no. That's not what I meant by it I just.. I don't know what I meant."

"All I'm sayin' Healani is, if you wanna fuck do it cause you want ta'. Not cause you feel left behind or whatever da case may be. I ain't sayin' I wouldn't fuck ya, trust me I ain't sayin' dat. But what I'm sayin' is I got respect fa' you, I ain't got much respect fa' Bethany ya know? But because I got respect fa' you and because I like you I wouldn't do something like that and then you regret it later cause you feel like you should've waited."

Even though he hadn't said anything out of the way my feelings were still a bit hurt. Yes, I appreciated his respect for me but in a way I wanted him to take advantage of me, have his way with me.

But I could never come out and say that because then I'd be another Bethany in his eyes.

"Yeah, well.. I'll be sure to stick to one guy."
