Adriana's POV
I scrambled for cover, looking for the nearest closet or room to hide in, and luckily, I found a little supplies closet, and I dashed in there and closed the door.
"Yo, what up, Gareth," said the muffled voice of James.
"Sup James. You busy right now or can we chill out?" Gareth's voice responded.
"I've got time. Come on in," Said James. Dang it. How long am I going to be stuck here?
"Thanks. I just really needed someone to talk to, and Cris is kind of in a bad mood like he's going to destroy and kill everything. He isn't much use in talking to," Said Gareth. So I guess he would normally confide in Cris. "He was in the locker room trying to break everything and he was screaming and yelling and then saying bad things about Adri." He paused. "How is she doing, by the way? You were the last one that I know of who saw her."
"She's dealing with it in her own way. I took her home," James lied.
"Well, now might not be the greatest time to break some more news to her. There are so many things that she's going to have to find out soon, and I don't know how we are going to break it to her," Gareth said.
"What do we have to tell her?" Asked James. Was he as in the dark as I was?
"Well, the better of the two is that Barcelona thinks that they have found a loophole in Adrian Malinowski's contract, and they want him, so, we might be losing Adri once and for all," Said Gareth sadly.
"A loophole? What kind of loophole? They can't just take one of our best players! That's unfair!" James protested.
"Yeah. Apparently we're going to only have had her for a game or two, and then if they spend enough money and swoop her up, then that's it. That's the end of that. She's almost out of our grasp, and you're the last chance. She hates Cris with all of her guts, and she trusts you more than anyone. You have to convince her," Said Gareth, sounding desperate.
"What do I do? What do I say?" Asked James, sounding genuinely panicked.
"I don't know. But I just don't want to lose Adri. She's basically our family at this point, and we've been through so much, her and the team. She can't go now," Said Gareth sadly.
"I agree. We can't leave her behind now. She wouldn't do that to us, only to Cris," Said James thoughtfully. "Speaking of which, I'm guessing that the other news is probably dealing with him?"
"Okay, you'll never believe it. He told us while in a fit of rage, and I don't know how the heck we tell Adri. She'll be devastated," He said.
"What? What did Cris do?" James asked.
"He... well... He's been cheating on her," Gareth said sadly.
"He has?" James said, startled.
"Yeah. For a few months now. Do you want to know what he said?" Asked Gareth. "While he was raging, he was throwing stuff around and was all like, and I quote. 'Fine! I don't need Adriana, anyway. She was just another gold digging b***h! I've already found another girl who's different. I don't need her. I'm glad she's gone.'"
I was on the verge of tears. No. Scratch that. I was full out crying. I couldn't switch teams. I would have to leave James, the boy who's been so good to me, and Gareth, who really cares, just doesn't know how to show it. I was done with Cris, to be fair. But, I would leave James? No. Not James.
But then throw in Cristiano cheating on me? Nuh-uh. No way. I could not stand seeing his face again.
I just need to see my twin, Leo. Leo, I need you so much right now. Neymar, I hope you can forgive me. I need to go back to you guys.
