True Colours

You wear Red on Monday

It makes you enthusiastic, you say,

To power you through the work day.

It is not enthusiasm but aggression that I see.

Do you not realize the people

You trample and stomp on

While you flounce about your day?

You wear Orange on Tuesday

It's to boost your confidence, you say,

So I can always do my very best.

It is not confidence but ignorance I see

Ignorance of all the people you hurt

The words you proudly say as you strut about

Cause more pain than you are willing to see.

You wear Yellow on Wednesday

It keeps you focused, you say,

Your brilliant mind cannot miss a thing.

It is not focus but fear I see

Fear fills and clouds your sharp mind

Fear that even at your best

There will always be someone better than you.

You wear Green on Thursay

It gives you luck, you say,

To come out on top and win

It is not luck but envy I see

Envious of the fact that I alwasy win

You tell me good game but I see

The weakness in your eyes.

You wear Blue on Friday

Its a sign of trust, you say,

Your trustworthiness has to shine through

It is not trust but manipulation I see

Each person you come across

Your own personal pawn

A game of chess you always seem to win

You wear Indigo on Saturday

Im a visionary, you say,

I need to help others see what I see

It is not your vision but your delusions I see

Sociopathic visions of a better future

Your future

Where no one but you will come out on top

You wear Violet on Sunday

Its keeps me humble, you say,

It does no good to boast superiority

It is not humbleness but doubt I see

You will never be good enough

Thorugh all the people you push aside

No matter how much you try

I see you for who you truly are

However hard you try to hide

And though I admit

Im not the brightest

How is it that only I

Can see your true colours?
