Chapter 2

Caroline's Pov

Umuwi na ako pagkatapos kong pumunta ng faculty. Nawala ko yung quiz ko sa may cafeteria pero nung ireretake ko na ito sa faculty, sabi ni ma'am ay ibinigay ni Press yung papel ko. Di na ako bumisita ng locker dahil di ko kinuha yung ilan sa mga gamit ko. Nasa kwarto ako ngayon. Hindi na sa attic. Nakaupo ako sa kama at nakaharap sa bintana.

"Something wrong, baby?" Sabi ni mommy.

"People called me bitch."

"What?"

"Then our principal found out that Ashley did it and she'll be suspended for a month."

"Just like that?"

"No. She'll be my assistant."

"Then what's wrong with that?"

"I don't want her to be my assistant. She tried to get me kicked out for five years."

"I'll talk to the principal."

"No. It's alright. The more she makes trouble, the more she's getting closer to getting kicked out. It's fine."

"Okay. Come down for dinner okay?"

"Yes mom."

I looked at my phone at napakadaming text ang nareceive ko. Limang text kay Press at siyam na text kay Callie tapos limang missed calls pa. Aware naman siguro silang di ko dala yung phone ko no? Specially Callie. I already told her.

*Riing Riing*

"Hello?"

"Carol! Di ka nagrereply! Di ka sumasagot sa tawag."

"Di ko dala yung phone ko. Diba sabi ko sayo?"

"Ah. Di ko naalalang sinabi mo."

"Ay nako."

"Oh siya sige. Baboosh!"

"Bye."

Bumaba ako para kumain at dumating na pala si daddy.

"Hi, bunso. Kumusta school?"

"Ayos lang dad." Sabi ko habang nilalaro yung pagkain ko.

"Okay."

"Dad." Sabi ni mommy.

"What?"

"Okay. So, other than somethings. What happened?" Sabi pa ni mommy.

"As usual."

"Are you okay?" Tanong ni daddy.

"Yeah. Sure. I guess."

"Bakit ang tamlay mo yata?"

"Me? No. I'm fine."

"If you say so."

"Mom, I'm going to bed."

"But you haven't finished your food yet."

"I'm full."

"Okay. Good night."

I know there is nothing wrong. I'm just exhausted. Right? I went to sleep after I brushed my teeth. Kinabukasan, agad akong sinalubong ni Callie.

"Uy! Di ka sumabay sakin kahapon. Wala tuloy akong kasabay. Kumusta? Wala na akong balita sayo simula nung sa ca-"

"Please. Let's not talk about that."

"Okay. Let's go upstairs. Tayo na lang ang kulang sa taas."

"Uhm. Okay."

Umakyat kami habang mahigpit nyang hawak ang kamay ko. Ano bang meron?
