*Jerome's POV*

He's going to be okay. He's going to survive. I was sat by Mitch's bedside. It was an hour after his 3 hour operation. I was holding his hand, caressing the back of it with my thumb. He still hadn't woken up. Momentarily after the operation was finished he woke, but was in so much pain they had to put him on heavy anaesthetic. I was bought into this room an hour ago.  He should wake up soon.

"Hey Jerome"  I looked up.  Adam stood there.  I still could not believe that he had raised all the money for Mitch's operation.  I didn't think he cared after the way me and Mitch had been treating him, but it was all going to be okay now.  The police had caught Jake, Mitch was going to wake up soon and Adam was now one of us again.

"Hey Adam."  I smiled warmly at him.  I was glad we were okay with each other again, I was starting to miss him.

"Hows he doing?" Adam asked me nodding to Mitch and leaning back against the wall.

"He should wake up soon.  He better wake up soon"  I looked down at our entwined hands and continued moving my thumb along the back of his.

"I'll go get you something to eat Jerome, you look half starved." I nodded, not listening to what he was saying, lost in Mitch's face.  I heard the door quietly open and close.  I looked back to Mitch's face.  I leaned down and kissed his forehead.  I felt movement under my lips.  Wait! I felt movement under my lips! I drew back quickly.  Mitch's eyes were fluttering open, he looked dazed and confused.

"J-Jerome?"

"Mitch!" I gasped and hugged him.  He hugged me straight back. "Are you okay? I was so worried I thought you were going to die!  Why did you step in front of that bullet you stupid, stupid man?"  Tears welled up in my eyes, threatening to spill over the edge.

"I had to save you Jerome!  If I hadn't have jumped in time the bullet would have hit your heart, and you wouldn't be here!"

"If you hadn't have jumped you wouldn't be hurt!" My tears and broken the barricades of my eyes and were now rolling down my face. "Mitch you have no idea how scared I was!  You have been out for too long! I had almost given up, you almost died!  If you had died I wouldn't have been able to do anything, you are my life Mitch.  The one thing that I live for.  Without you I wouldn't have a reason to live.  I love you too much to go and live on without you.  Please never get hurt again, please.  You are my one and only Biggums."  Mitch was crying as well now. 

"Never leave me Jerome" He said

"I promise" I reply and leaned down to kiss him.  The kiss was simple, sweet and loving. We broke apart and I held his hand, swept up in his loving gaze.  I heard the door open and closed, Adam was back with my drink and a slice of cake.  Chocolate, my favourite.  Behind him was Ty.

"Hey Jerome sorry it took so long, Ty was there and we got...um...distracted"  Ty giggle and blushed at this.  I had an idea what had got them distracted.  

"Hey it's okay" I smiled at him "Hey Ty, you okay?"

"Yeah I'm good thanks man" He then saw Mitch, awake, and gasped "Oh my god Mitch! You're awake how are you feeling?"
