“Oh my god, Alison.” Tanner whispered as I leaned by Lucy’s writhing body.

“Lucy, Lucy it’ll be all right, just fine, okay?” Blood was everywhere, and I gagged at the sight. She looked the same as that little Indian boy had before he died.

“We need the healing fairies, they can fix it. Tanner, go get them, and find Peter.” I shouted and turned back to my cousin. She was shaking, and the bleeding wouldn’t stop. Tears came to my eyes as she smiled at me.

“Ali, they need a mother.” I shook my head. “You are their mother, and you will be fine.”  I reassured her.

“They will not get here in time, just let it happen. Just, tell Peter I love him, and I’m sorry for wanting to leave.” She said, now crying and shaking. I placed my hand over her heart.

“I’m sorry for letting you.” I heard Peter say behind me. He was panting, and crying, leaves matted in his hair. He must have flown the fastest he ever could.

“Think of the stars Lucy.” I whispered as I moved away, and William pulled me into his arms as I sobbed. Peter placed Lucy in his arms, as he held her hand.

“I love you so much Lucy, please don’t leave me.” He said as he rocked her back and forwards. She was now struggling to breathe as her wound became more severe.

“To die.” She took a breath. “Would be awfully great adventure.” He weakly chuckled as she began to cough relentlessly, and blood was coming out of her mouth.

“But to love would be an awfully bigger one.” Peter whispered as she went silent, and her head dropped.

“Sleep well Luce.” He cried, and it began to rain. I sat there in shock, William holding me tightly.

“Lucy?” I whispered, crawling towards her, but Will held me back.

“William, get her out of here. GO!” He shouted and I screamed for my cousin.  Will shot up with me into the air, and flew me away from Lucy and Peter. I started to kick him, I needed to get back to her.

“No! Will, let me down, I need to get to her, she’s going to be scared! Please Will, put me back on the ground.” I begged him; I needed to get to her.

“The boys will want their mother, Aaron wont be able to sleep, please!” I cried for her, I needed to get to my cousin.

“She’s gone Ali, I am so sorry.” William repeated until I finally collapsed in his arms, all the fight gone out of me.

“No Will, she can’t be gone.” I wailed. “Please tell me this is some sick dream, I want to wake up, I want my cousin!” I cried, and Will hugged me tighter as he set me down on the sand.

“It’s all my fault! I should have been looking around, I’m so stupid!” I screamed, sobbing harder. Will wrapped his arms around me tightly again.

“Ali, this is not your fault at all! We will find Nibs, and the pirates and we will have our revenge.” I sniffled and leaned into him.

“She was so bright and caring, I should be the one that’s dead, not her! I’m the messed up girl, she was the perfect Wendy! I’m just the girl who came along, who wasn’t wanted by anyone! That arrow should have hit me!” I yelled as William ran his fingers through my hair.

“That arrow shouldn’t have hit anyone, not Lucy, not you. Please come back to me Alison, please calm down, I need you.” He whispered as I closed my eyes.

“I need you too Will, more than you could ever imagine.” My eyes stayed on his as he grabbed my hand.

“What happened today was not your fault. Don’t you ever think that Ali. Did you fire that arrow?” I shook my head. “Were you trying to hurt Luce?” Again, no.
