Boy this got long, but I regret nothing. This is set before Overwatch disbanded:

(Y/N) leans against the wall, impatiently tapping her foot against the floor, over and over. The Blackwatch mission isn't supposed to last this long. It's just supposed to be intel at most. But now it's running very late into the night. You're just waiting for your very dear friend, Gabriel to return. Through joking around and going on a few missions together the both of you had gotten very close.

A voice draws you out of your thoughts, "Hey, love, what are you waiting around here for?" Your friend Lena wonders.

You look up to meet her gaze, "Oh, I was just waiting for the Blackwatch group to get back."

Her expression switches to frantic, "Oh? So, you haven't heard?"

(Y/N) raises her eyebrows in suspicion, "Heard what?"

"They returned about ten minutes ago, love, but the mission went badly and there were casualties and injuries." She explains with a saddened expression.

Your eyes widen and you're about to panic, "Gabriel..? Is he..?"

"Oh, you mean Reyes?" Lena questions, which earns a nod from you, "I saw him head into his room a bit ago."

You take off down the hall without a second thought, shouting, "Thanks Lena, gotta go!"

A few minutes later, you round the corner with a first aid kit in hand, rushing to his room. You knock on the door frantically, not eliciting a response from him.

"Gabriel.." You say, just loud enough for him to hear you, "Can I come in?"

A mumbled, "Yes," comes from behind the door.

You slip into the room, and shut the door carefully behind you. Gabriel sits on his bed with his arms crossed and a sour look on his face. His arm has a large cut on it, but other than that, the rest looks easily treatable.

"Oh, Gabriel.." You say softly, approaching his bed.

His head tilts up and his eyes meet yours.

Present day

Back pressed against a building, chest heaving roughly, you glance around the corner, carefully.

(Y/N) is being followed, and had been since she left the house this morning.

You let out a deep sigh of relief, believing you had lost them. You're walking back down the alley when you hear the footsteps nearby again. They echo down the alley, but you cant place their position. Suddenly, you feel a presence behind you, but how? You couldn't hear them approach.. Deciding to question it later, your legs pick up and you race towards the end of the alley, where a mostly empty parking garage sits, but someone has to be there.

They have to be.

The heavy footsteps pick up behind you. Rushing into the garage, you stumble and fall flat on your face. You pick yourself up quickly. Unable to walk, you crawl over to the nearest wall and hide yourself.

No footsteps. Is it over?

To your horror, a black, cloaked figure rises from the ground, a skeleton mask covering his face. Your mouth opens in horror, but you're unable to make a sound,
