Dear Amelia,
I'm going to have to believe you when you say that we'll be okay. I'm going to have to believe that you won't leave me again, that you won't sink into oblivion, and that we'll be alright. And it's going to be hard to forget the things that happened and it's going to be hard to forgive you, but I love you, Amelia, and I don't have any other choice.
You stayed last night, your arms wrapped tightly around my torso the whole night through. When I woke up, you were still here. I'd forgotten what you looked like asleep-- peaceful. The sun tickled your bare shoulders and created tiny fires of red in the wave of your hair. You snored soundly, your hand placed as if you fell asleep holding mine.
We'll be okay. We'll be okay because we have each other.
Always, Amelia, always.
