Y/n's POV
Apollo had to lean heavily on Will for support as we made our way to the Big House. Thankfully, Austin and Kayla had managed to clear the crowd, so the only person waiting outside for us was Meg. Together, the four of was headed towards the large Victorian house at the edge of camp. I hobbled along with my boot, going faster than Apollo, but that wasn't a surprise. I've had many foot/leg injuries throughout the years, so I could go fast with a boot or on crutches.
The green was pretty much empty, which was to be expected during the winter. Most demigods went back home during the regular year to attend school. But a few of us, like Will and I, had no place to go, so we stayed here year round. With what little light was being radiated from the sun, I could see a few campers going about their daily routines. There was a girl scouring the climbing wall, three demigods checking the rigging on the trireme by the water, and a boy polishing his shield by the hearth. Then there was Sherman Yang, who glared at us as he walked into the Ares cabin with a weird stance, obviously from getting kicked by Meg. On the porch of the Big House, Nico was waiting for us.
"I remember you," Apollo confessed. "Is it Nicholas, son of Hades?"
"Nico di Angelo," Nico corrected, his eyes automatically glancing over at me. "Y/n? What happened to you?"
"Ask Apollo," I grumble. "It's practically his fault. But don't think this boot is gonna stop me from getting my hug. Get over here, Di Angelo."
"Fine," Nico exhaled and walked over, enveloping me in a big hug. "How was your weekend with Percy?"
"It was good," I reply. "A nice distraction."
"But that's all it was. A distraction," Nico murmured and saw my gloved hands. "Is your-"
"I'm fine," I assure him. "Don't worry about me."
"Okay. So it's true then, Apollo. You're completely mortal," Nico noticed. "There's an aura of death around you. A thick possibility of death."
"Sounds like a weather forecast," Meg pointed out.
"Nico, we need to have another talk about your people skills," Will lectured.
"Hey, I'm just stating the obvious," Nico defended. "If this is Apollo, and he dies, we're all in trouble. And you know what, my people skills are great. Fantastic, even. Right Y/n?"
"They've gotten better," I claim. "I mean, when I met you years ago, you had a temper. And you preferred hanging with the dead instead of the living. Which is still sort of the case."
"Y/n, you were supposed to be on my side," Nico spoke.
"I am," I promise. "Will, lay off him, all right? He's doing better."
"Whatever. Apollo, I apologize for my boyfriend," Will expressed.
Nico rolled his eyes. "Could you not?"
"Would you prefer special guy? Or significant other?" Will suggested.
"Significant annoyance, in your case," Nico teased.
"You guys fight a lot," Meg uttered.
"It's not fighting. It's playful banter," I amend. "And I think it's adorable. You know, I don't get enough credit for introducing you guys. Seriously. You should be thanking me."
"Thank you Y/n!" Will sang and pulled me in for a side hug.
"So where's the centaur?" Meg asked and looked around.
"Right here, dear," Chiron announced and trotted out onto the porch. "Apollo, it's good you are here. We need to talk about the disappearances."
Meg gawked. "He really is a centaur."
