I was five and I told my mom I wanted to join a football team when I get older.
She had told me that because I was a girl, I might be made fun of and not let on the team. And if I was on the team I'd have gotten hurt too much.
I had cried and regretted I told her that. Then I said through tears"I wish I wasn't a girl. I wish I was a boy so I could be on a team."
She had replied "You are my baby girl. Don't say that. You are special because of your dream, so don't give it up and don't let anyone in your way."
