Maddison Ellison is just like any other teenager living on the reserve, except for the fact that she is partially a pale face. With her distinguishable characteristics it is hard to blend in with the other kids in the tribe. Smart, witty, a bit temperamental, yet reserved. Maddison is a blue eyed girl who just can't seem to "blend in".
Paul Lahote has had the pleasure of knowing Maddison almost her whole life, due to the fact that her older brother is his best friend. Having grown up with the only blue eyed girl on the reserve, he has an odd protective instinct for the little pale face, and realized that, as she grew up, he grew to have an infatuation with her. However, when the trials of life test the duo, Paul will either have to push her away to keep her safe, or close the distance between them for good.
