Chapter 8 The real Mary

“Mary?” Black said. We all stared as Black walked towards Mary and hugged her tightly. It was a sweet moment until Mary pushed him away with an angry look on her face. She sneered.

“Don't touch me.” She said. She took a step towards the man, Peter. Black frowned and you could see the look of sadness on his face.

“What?” He asked confused. She scowled.

“I said don't touch me you dog.” She said angrily. She grabbed onto Peter's arm who was shorter than her. Peter was acting scared but I could see his smirk behind his cowering face. Mary was only a little bit taller than him and they both looked dirty.

“What happened to you?” Black asked her his face clearly hurt. She smirked at him.

“Which part?” She asked happily. I could tell she had an atatude and I didn't like it. Everyone knew this was Mary and that she was supposed to be dead. We all stood frozen and I slowly scooted closer to Lupin. I felt that I had too I don't know why. I could see Mary look at me and then back at Black.

“You're supposed to be dead. How are you alive?” Lupin asked while Black stared surprised at her because of her sudden attitude. She looked at Lupin and I took the last small step to him. Peter was glaring at me out of the corner of his eye.

“I faked it. When you ran with little Violet I stayed behind.” she said turning to Black. She looked at me but not the same way she looked at Black.

“I stayed and helped the Potters but I really helped to kill them. I joined Lord Voldemort.” She said putting air quotes on helped and raising her head high. Everyone gasped as she continued to tell the story.

“I helped him kill the Potters and joined him. I followed Peter around on his orders.” she said winking at Peter. I heard Harry growl but Mione held him back. I glared at her.

“Mary, I thought you loved me. After everything you were on his side the hwole time.”Sirius said sadly. I didn't totally believe him but after what I just heard I know he's not nessacerily a horrible person. Mary laughed evily.

“Oh Sirius, I never loved you. It was a cover the whole time. I always loved Peter and you never once noticed. I just used you to get close to the Potters.” She said smirking at him. His face was horrified and so was everyone elses. Peter was still cowering but I could pratically hear him laughing in his mind. Sirius looked like he might faint but then he took out his wand and Mary immidiatley turned to Peter.

“Peter, I'm sorry I have to.” She said sadly and then she turned into a little red ladybug. She flew out the window before any of us could do anything to stop her. Sirius lowered his wand slightly angry. He shook his head and I saw one tear fall down his face before he looked away. I immidiatley wanted to comfort him even if I didn't believe him I felt the need to comfort him. I would do the same thing to Lupin who is my dad really. Before I could even think it through I walked over to him and hugged him. I could hear everyone in the room suck in a breath and hold it. Sirius stood as shocked as everyone else but after a second he hugged me back. I could almost feel him smile. I smiled and let go of him walking back over to Lupin who put his arm around me. Lupin then decided it was time we talked to the cowering Peter.
