Tartarus
The disappearance of a muse
Writer’s Block
A composer’s scribbled out sonata
Artists are temperamental geniuses.
Their torch burns bright, briefly
Flickers and dies.
Unstable.
Capable of great feats.
Yet greatness comes with a price.
Daedalus. Orpheus. Arachne. Cassandra.
Tragic heroes.
Is immortalization worth the price?
Is an unhinged mind a sign of genius?
Hysterical laughter?
Their works we label beauty, comes from their soul.
Wrenched from their demons.
Their eyes feverish with their epiphanies.
A pact with the devil.
Inspiration comes from strife.
Written by candlelight,
With blood,
With the tarnish of their soul.
Are you willing, to pay the price?
