The five of us exchanged worried glances. Milly stood up and went to look out the window, but Emma stopped her. Then Cylie looked at us, and walked over to the door quietly. She looked out the peephole, and was about to scream, but somehow, Cody appeared next to her and covered her mouth. He mouthed something to her, and then moved his hand. Then they backed away from the door.
Crazy thing is, I didn't even see Cody get up. I didn't see him walk over to his sister.
But then Cody was next to me and he started to whisper in my ear.
"It's him. We need to go."
Cylie went over and told the other two girls, just as we heard more banging on the door.
"Cody, you can't protect your little girlfriend forever.
Hand her over, or I take the gun back out. Your choice."
Cody looked at me. I was terrified. How did he know my name? And how did he know Cody's name?
Then Emmy motioned us to follow her, and Milly jumped on her back. Cody put his jacket on me and zipped it up. I looked at him, and he had worry in his eyes as he looked at me. Then he picked me up and we followed Emmy and Milly.
But little Millennium wasn't scared. She looked ready for anything as we followed her and her sister through the back room. There was a door, and Emmy opened it, and we walked out and watched her lock it behind us. She let Milly down off of her back, and we started to run down the alley again.
"Everyone! Follow me!" said Milly.
You would think that a ten-year-old girl would slow you down, but no. She was actually speeding us up. And there was something special about Milly that I couldn't quite figure out.
She was fast, smart, and she knew how to treat a sprained ankle. And she kind of reminded me of a ninja as she ran through the alley with us.
Milly took us farther into the alleys, then turned left and onto a normal street.
Then Emmy looked confused, and she reach out and grabbed her sister by the arm. We all stopped behind them.
"Milly, where are you taking them?"
"The place! Come on we have to hurry!"
"No! We can't take them there!"
I looked up at Cody and then at Cylie. They were just as confused as I was.
"Emmy! Milly!" Cylie stopped them. "We need to
Go before he catches up with us!"
"But, Milly, I don't know if it's safe to take them
There!"
Then Milly ignored her sister and turned to me.
"Shelby, do you trust me?"
I looked at her as I thought, but there was no doubt in my answer.
"Yes."
And then Emmy looked at me, and then back at Milly.
"Let's go."
Esmeralda seemed like she trusted Millennium, but she also knew what we were being led into. And I was pretty sure that it was something that no other ten-year-olds would be able to do.

Milly led us to an abandoned building. It looked like it hadn't been abandoned for very long though, because it was still in pretty good shape.
We were taken around to the back entrance. Emmy pulled out a key and unlocked the door.
But something unusual happened when we walked in. We were greeted by two men, who pulled guns out and pointed them straight at us, while shielding Emmy and Milly behind them.
"No! They are with us, trust me, they have no guns or
Weapons." Emmy told them, and the men lowered their
Guns.
Then the girls led us to the elevator.
"Sir, can you take us to our room on the top floor?"
Milly asked the bellhop man.
"Yes, Millennium, I'd be happy to."
"Wait-" Cylie started to say, but Emmy covered her
Mouth.
"We'll explain when we get to our room."
Then the elevator took us up to the top floor, and we walked into the room across the hall with the two girls who had a lot of explaining to do.
Cody was still carrying me, so he took me over and sat me on the fancy couch in the middle of the huge room. He gently picked up my leg and sat it on a foot cushion that was in front of the couch. He sat down on one side of me, while Cylie sat on the other side of me.
Emmy locked the door while Milly went over to a mini-fridge and pulled out an ice-pack. Then the girls came over and sat on the other couch across from us.
"Okay, Emmy, Milly, what are you not telling us?"
Cody asked them as he wrapped his arm around me.
"Well, I led you here because I knew he wouldn't look
For you here. But Emmy," she paused as she looked at her
Sister." She was worried that they might shoot you, or lead
the man here, or cause an international incident, but as
long as you don't have a tracking device on you, he can't find you."
I had to think for a moment. Did I have a tracking device
on me somewhere? How else was he able to find me?
Cody looked at me and he saw my worry. He pulled me in, closer to him. And, to be honest, I was scared. But Cylie still didn't have the rest of the information, and, knowing her, she wouldn't stop until she knew.
"But why are you here?" she asked.
Emmy and Milly shared a glance. Then looked at their friend.
"Well," Emmy started. "Our Mother is high up in the
British government, and she doesn't want anything to
Happen to us while she is at risk herself. The public
Doesn't know that we exist."
Then Milly joined in. "She wanted us to be safe, so
She bought this place, and hired guards."
"So," I started. "You are hiding here to be safe in
Case of an international incident?"
"Yes." Answered Emmy. "And we have to be kept safe
and secret in case something happens to our mother, so
we can take her place." Then she looked at Milly. "No
Matter how young."
This was all so strange to me. My ankle still hurt. I wasn't in Washington anymore. A man followed me from Washington. My ex boyfriend/super-hot-guy-that-I-still-had-feelings-for had been carrying me around the streets of New York for an hour. The creepy-stalker-guy who had been following me had a gun. And I still didn't know why. And now these two British girls had us staying in an abandoned hotel, when all I wanted to do was hang out with Cylie over her short brake.
The worse thing about being held against Cody on that couch was him being able to read my eyes. He saw how scared I was and I wasn't even going to try to hide it. And I'm pretty sure that my hands were shaking.
"Shelbs," He finally spoke after sitting with me for
Thirty minutes. "It's gonna be okay."
I turned to look at him, slightly pulling from his grip.
"But, Cody, what if it's not? What if that man finds
Me? He has a gun! And he already had it pulled on Cylie!
He is willing to kill anyone in his way just so he can get to
Me!"
"It's gonna to be okay." He repeated again. "I already
Lost you, and I'm not going to let anything happen to you
Again. And this time, I promise that."
We smiled at eachother, and we just sat there for a minute, our faces only a few centimeters apart.
Suddenly, he leaned a little closer. And I closed my eyes, lost in the moment. Just as his lips reached mine. Just as we realized that even though it seemed like it, we were not alone.
When the kiss ended, we saw that milly saw us. Cylie and Emmy would have too, but they were getting dinner from downstairs.
Milly was sitting on one of the two queen-size beds, and smiling at us. When we looked at her, she quickly covered her eyes with her hands. Me and Cody laughed.
"Come here, Milly." I told her, patting the seat beside
Me.
Then she got up and came over and laid against me, while I layed against Cody.
"So, does this mean you two are together?" the small
Girl asked us. And then Me and Cody looked at each
other.
"I don't know." He paused. "Shelby, does this mean
That we are together?"
I smiled back at him, not noticing the pain in my
Ankle at that moment. "I guess it does."
