A/N sorry about the lack of uploads recently, I've had exams so I wasn't in the mindset for writing but I'll try to upload more regularly from now on :)
It was now the summer holidays, Simon had invited me to lunch at a local cafe and I accepted, thinking it an appropriate opportunity to tell him how I feel. As it was just a casual meeting I threw on my black jeans, grey shirt and white and black adidas trainers. I put my essentials in my small black shoulder bag and my sunglasses on my head, keeping my hair out of my face. I headed to the cafe to see Simon waiting outside for me. I greeted him with a hug and he kissed me on the cheek.
Once we had finished our lunch we resumed a conversation about our plans for the summer.
'Simon' I said, to which Simon nodded, noting the seriousness in my voice.
'I need to tell you something'
'Okay' he replied simply. I carried on.
'It's about us'
'What about us?' He asked seriously.
'I don't think this is really working out at the moment' I said, too quickly for anyone to understand.
'What? I understood none of that'
'Well, I just don't really think that this is working out, I don't think we're working out' I said, nervous for his reaction.
'Oh' was all he said.
'Si?' I asked after about two minutes of silent staring.
'So, what's going to happen then, what are we now?' He finally asked.
'I don't know, I just don't think we're right for each other'
'But Mia, I love you'
'I'm sorry Simon, I just can't do this'
'How long?'
'How long what?'
'How long have you been feeling like this?'
'A couple of weeks'
'Why didn't you tell me sooner?'
'I didn't want to stress you out on top of exams, and I thought it would be best to do it out of school, so you could have space away from me if you wanted'
'Can you tell me one thing?'
'Of course Si'
'Is it Harry?'
'Simon-'
'Just tell me Mia'
'No, He's not the reason i feel like this' I said truthfully, Harry wasn't the reason I felt like this but he did make me realise I felt like it.
'Okay' he said, breathing out and nodding.
'So, are we still friends?' I asked cautiously.
'Of course' he replied, his voice soft.
I leaned over and hugged him, planting a kiss on his cheek.
'Bye Simon' I said smiling into his eyes.
'Bye Mia' he replied, looking into my eyes.
I left the cafe and went back home. Once I got home I put the tv on and just chilled out for a while.
A couple of hours later I got a text from Harry.
'Hey, you wanna meet up? xx'I replied quickly.
'Only if you're willing to come round mine, I honestly cba to go out anywhere xx''Okay, I'll be there in 15 xx'
'Okay see you soon xx'
I felt bad for Simon but I wanted to see Harry again. I hadn't seen him for what felt like ages but was really only a couple of days.
15 minutes later I heard a knock on the door and hurried over to greet Harry. I opened the door to reveal Harry smiling down at me, he embraced me in a hug and followed me into the house.
We had a conversation about boring, regular stuff, updating each other on what's been happening. I decided to tell him about Simon and I.
'Umm... So earlier today I kinda broke up with Simon' I said.
'Oh, are particular reason?'
'I just didn't feel right with him, ya know?'
'Yeah, I get you'
After that was sorted out we continued random conversations, which went on for about an hour and a half.
'Listen Mia, I wanted to ask you why your parents never seem to be around?' harry asked nervously. 'I don't want to pry but I just wondered'
'No it's fine, I figured you would be curious. Okay so where to begin, my dad cheated on my mum when I was still a baby and they divorced when I was young, maybe age two or three.' I said and he nodded.
'Then my mum got diagnosed depression and turned to alcohol as she couldn't deal with the divorce. My older brother, who's about 22 now, moved out as soon as he could, and by moved out I mean out of the country. I haven't seen him in three years.' I stopped to take a breath, urging myself to carry on. 'My mum went to rehab after my brother moved out, I think it was a reality call for her. She's now been sober for a year but she lives with he sister, my aunt Clara, who's been supporting her. I get sent money every month for bills, food and clothes and stuff. That's about it.'
'Mia' Harry said, looking at a loss for words. 'You're so strong, to have dealt with all of that'
I looked up to him, feeling that for once in my life I had found someone I can trust. He took my hand and embraced me in a hug. He gently placed a kiss on my lips. We pulled out from the kiss and he looked up to me.
'Hey I have to go but if you need me just call me or text me okay?' He said.
'Okay, thank you Harry'
'For what?'
'For being here for me' I replied.Once Harry left I read some Harry Potter. I had just finessed chapter seventeen of the Goblet of Fire when I got a sudden craving for Starbucks. I put on my black jeans and oversized white crop top. I put on my black converse and black bag and headed out. I didn't live that far away from the town, about a ten minute walk so it wasn't too bad. I was about halfway to Starbucks, with my earphones on nearly full volume, blocking out any external sound, when I felt a firm grasp around my waist. I gasped as the person started pulling me backwards. I tried to push away but they were too strong, I tried to scream but their hand was swiftly converting my mouth. I couldn't even turn around to see who it was, I just knew that this person was hostile and they were not joking around. I was dumped into the back of a car and the doors around me were locked so I couldn't escape. I looked out the dark, tinted window to try and identify the person, only to see a man whose face was covered by the shadows of nearby trees. He got in the car and looked at me through the rear view mirror, he had dark eyes, I didn't recognise them.
'Who the fuck are you' I shouted as he started the car.
'That's none of your concern Mia' he replied calmly, his voice was deep and strong.
'Where are you taking me?' I asked, trying to sound calmer to match his tone.
'I'm afraid I can't tell you that Mia' he said.
'Why?' I said desperately now 'why are you kidnapping me?'
'Oh I'm not, just... Borrowing you, ill return you soon enough'
'What do you want from me?'
'You'll see' was the reply I got, and I could tell that the conversation had ended. He drove us down a small road, winding through trees and hedges; it was clear we were moved away for civilisation. After a short while we had arrived at a huge house, it looked quite old fashioned from the outside. The man got out from the car and unlocked my door, taking my hand and leading me into the house. It was huge and surprisingly modern looking on the inside. He lead me up the stairs and into a bedroom.
'This is where you'll be staying, there's clothes in the wardrobe and an ensuite to the right.' He said, pointing the the wardrobe and ensuite 'goodnight Mia'
He shut the door and I walked around the room. It was a large room, the walls were plain white except on dignities wall which was a pastel pink. Fairy lights surrounded the top perimeter of the room and there was a big four poster double bed with white and pink sheets on. The wardrobe was massive, I opened it to reveal a whole range of clothing, from girly pink clothes to black clothes, this room had everything. I got changed into some pyjama shorts and a plain white top and went into the bathroom. I looked in the cabinet to find the toothbrush and toothpaste. After brushing my teeth I put my hair up into a messy bun and crawled into bed, completely confused as to what I was doing here. This was definitely going to be interesting.
