he refused to sit at their table today.
he sat an empty table towards the back with fiona, watching them from afar.
they didn't seem to miss him, and that sucked.
as if on cue, jace stumbled in that very moment. and he looked bad. he had a cut lip and a black eye.
he tried to sit with them, but they just looked at him and scowled. you can't look dirty and try to sit with them.
something was wrong with jace and he knew it.
fiona, always knowing too much and speaking to little, explained it all to him with a few words.
"his dad is abusive"
